Discounts programs
Although my order of MY18 X5 40e was sent and my car is in the production right now, I'm still confused with what incentives I should get, or I should say what incentives I did get.
Here is the list of incentive programs I researched ahead of my purchase, (Don't blame me if they're not 100% accurate), but you know your dealership often finds ways to not to give to you, for example, they don't have, or can't be stacked, or not applicable, or expired, or new model doesn't have that, etc. BMW Car Club Vehicle Rebate (BMW CCA) - $1K You need to be the member for at least 366 days when you receive your new BMW. https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate BMW Group Corporate Fleet Employee Program - The benefit for employees. Please check your company’s HR or Benefit departments. It usually comes with two discounts - 1. Lease cash discount or Cash purchase discount or BMW FS loan discount. 2. 0.0002 Money Factor rate deduction. BMW Ultimate Driving Experience (BMW UDE) - $1k. All programs are free of charge with the exception of the full-day Car Control Clinic, which costs $750. By participating in it, you can get an incentive coupon which is good for purchasing any new BMW models within the United States. You should receive $1K coupon code by email after the test-drive. This coupon can be used along with any almost other BMW incentives, except European Delivery Program and Drive for Team USA Incentive. The coupon code must be received and presented before you purchase or order your BMW (the coupon is ineligible if you order your BMW ahead of the UDE event). BMW Drive for Team USA - $1k. The event is held in the local BMW dealership. Coupon. BMW Special Offers - https://www.bmwusa.com/special-offers.html College Graduate Program - $1K for purchasingleasing. $750 for purchasing the Certified Pre-Owned. BMW Group Partner & Family Program BMW VIP Purchase Program USAA/Military Sales Program Federal Program State/City Program Your salesman/dealership Program I believe in the end I got $7.5K total credits/discounts/rebates/CapReduction - whatever you want to call. (My car MSRP is about $72K.) 1. BMW Lease Credit - $3K BMW website indicated MY17 X5 40e will get the suggested dealer contribution of $2,886 and $6,000 Lease Credit. https://www.bmwusa.com/special-offer...l-offers-legal 2. Corporate Fleet Discount - $1K The salesman said I can't combine with BMW CCA. I can only get one of them. I don't know. Need to figure out after getting my car. 3. Discounts from CA and dealership discount - $3K 4. State Plug-in EV Lease Credit - $500 So, what I don't get is - 1. Corporate Fleet Discount MF 0.0002 rate deduction. 2. BMW UDE $1k credit - I didn't participate any in the past 12-months. 3. BMW Drive for Team USA credit - I did this in the past. No credit for now. 4. BMW Special Offer is not applicable to me and my MY18 40e. 5. College Graduate Program credit - can I use kids'? 6. Not BMW Group Partner. 7. Not BMW VIP Purchase. 8. Not USAA/Military. 9. No Federal. Am I right? |

What is your exact MSRP and selling price before any incentive/rebates? let me know I can calculate your number with max. incentives. You can't get CCA and fleet discount together. Fleet MF reduction of .00020 is long gone. No UDE this year, there were $500 incentive but can't be combine with fleet. College Graduate Program cannot be used in conjunction with the Fleet Employee Program (FEP). Based on the above looks like you should get $4000 rebate from selling price. $3000 is BMW plug-in rebate and 1K (either CCA or fleet). I will do fleet so that you can get immediate reduction from cap cost. |

Oh, I forgot the $350 disposition fee for my old lease.
Should I pay this when picking up the car? Or it's the thing of BMW FS which will give me the credit after owning the new lease for 6-months? |

On my 2017 X5 35d, when I activate the steering wheel heater, the digital part of my speedometer says Steering wheel heat activated. When I turn it off, it then says Heater deactivated. Pretty cool, at least I think. lol

You shouldn't have to pay disposition fee. Call them after signing up new contract and give them new contract number.

Got the chance of driving the new MY18 40e for 2-hours. Got some ideas -
1. We all agreed that the new Trapezoid tailpipes make the car look better. 2. iDrive 6 has the better user interface and higher/clearer resolution. Need some time to get used to its new layout and setup since I'm coming from MY15 iDrive (version 4?). No gesture control. 3. The ride is quiet, but once the the gasoline engine kicks it, it's getting louder. 4. The power combination with Electric/Gasoline engines isn't seamless. Maybe I still need to learn how to better push the gas pedal. 5. The 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine isn't that bad. I didn't try to accelerate above 60 MPH in the highway today but it appeared it's performing better than I had expected when the Gasoline motor's running alone. 6. The car's finishing touch/quality seems better than my MY15 x35i. 7. Losing the under-trunk compartment to the batteries is a little bit trouble-some. I'm no longer able to hide my stuff and keep the trunk clean. 8. I saw people mentioned their battery is often depleted to 0%, but, in my mixed 2-hours driving today (highway and local stop/go jam), it's never going down to 11% or below. Need to monitor this further to see how this works. 9. I'm using 110V outlet to charge my 40e overnight for now. I almost broke the charger when I forgot the charger is locked at the same time your car is locked. And, after the car was parking and plugging 20-mins, the engine fan suddenly started to run for about 10-mins. It's kind of scary. |

I have order 40e. I'm worried about acceleration when running on gas engine alone. Can you do some test? On freeway exit etc. I will do test drive next week or so after finishing my project. Last edited by leasehackr; 10-28-2017 at 04:18 PM.. |

I did test-drive it. As my personal preference, I feel this small engine is sufficient for my daily Manhattan life. I won’t be able to go anywhere even though I get the 400 HP engine. The most of acceleration seems pretty good and the car is moving easily. I’ll find a day to try the acceleration in higher speed range. My battery went to 2% in Auto eDrive mode then the engine kicked in. Not able to reach 0 yet. I’m pretty much driving this heavy SUV with 2 liter engine all day long in the city. The car is moving well. Some other new findings - . The electric assisted steering seems too light and too much input, no matter it’s in high or low speed. . The new iDrive also has the higher resolution camera views in all the angles. . The parking sensors’ display/graphic is also more dynamic in the screen. |

Wow. Nice and the complete built. It seems you got everything except Dynamic Handling Package, Rear Entertainment, Dynamic Damper Control, and Night vision, etc. Adding the new set of tires, will MSRP be about 77K? |

Sticker is 78k. This will be my fourth x5, second diesel. I currently have a x35d coming off lease. Have been very happy with the diesel. Lifetime mpg average over 43k miles is 31.6mpg. And with 400 lb of torque, that is having your cake and eat it to! Looking forward to the upgraded interior. |

With my lease expiring soon, it's time to play again. I have looked at almost every competitor, including Lexus RX, Audi Q5, Q7, Porsche Macan (my top choice driving car, but some compromises), Jaguar F Pace, and Volvo X60, X90. And I keep coming back to BMW. It just drives the best, despite all the little gremlins we've seen in our vehicles. I must say, my 2012 335 cabriolet and my current 2015 428 GC have been trouble free (my prior 2010 535 had the HPFP issue and was otherwise trouble free). So here we go again. I hope to put an order in for a 2018 X5 35d this week, but I have a couple questions:
1) M-Sport with Adaptive M vs DHP vs X-Line with dynamic damper control + rear axle air suspension. Can someone explain the difference, please. I have been looking at M-Sport but X-Line is a lot less money. I would like a sportier ride; any off-road travel would likely just be gravel trails. 2) I attended UDE in April but never received a certificate. Was I supposed to receive one for 2017? 3) I see other builds that include details about running boards and roof racks. I need a hitch, ostensibly just for a bike rack, as well as roof rails for a cargo box and kayaks/paddle boards. These options are not available in the online configurator. How do you add these?

Ok. Here is my build:
X5d, M Sport Alpine white. Black Dakota leather Driving assistance M Adaptive suspension Heated steering wheel Apple car play HK sound Passed on all the others. Would like the lighting, rear comfort seats, and the higher end electronics, but the cost would be excessive. Very comfortable with this build and can’t wsit to go 2-3 weeks between fill-ups. The only issue remains is what to do about hitch for bike rack. |

Picked mine up last night. Everything I hoped for. The interior is so plush. Here are some pictures. Note, the one picture is "coming and going". White one is my old one, blue one the new.

Love those rims... unfortunately, I didn't get them in my previous '15 F15, and didn't get them in the current '18, either...
