Anyone own a 35d that has an MPE exhaust installed?

Anyone with a 35d that had an MPE exhaust installed?

I'd like to hear your experiences with drone, extra noise, etc...

I would love to find an exhaust that makes my X5 diesel sound more like a John Deere 8440.

You could just cut your rear muffler off and still probably wouldn?t hear much sound change. Our diesels are more muted coming off the turbo by the dpf and scr. You want noise, dpf delete or gut your scr will get you there.

Personally, I'd love a 35d with a 12v Cummins swap.

Probably waste of money. Even M50d sounds like crap, so....
Enjoy your MPG (sorry if too harsh)

Wow, judging by all the sarcasm in this thread I guess this was the stupidest question you guys have heard. I love the way the MPE sounds on a 35i and was curious to see if it would sound good on a diesel. So are you guys saying it'll make it sound like utter crap? If so then thank you and I won't be asking this ever again...

All sarcasm aside, yes, this is pointless. I had a Cummins diesel a few years ago. Sounds excellent without a muffler. But the BMW diesel in your X5? Forget it.

There are several E90 335d guys with various exhaust combos, not sure if any specifically use MPE. Ask this question in the E90 Diesel subforum (http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=377) and you should get at least a few serious responses. Most will tell you that simply removing the muffler will not yield much change in sound but as kj71109 said, you'll need to replace the DPF with a downpipe and gut the SCR. Doing so will require a tune.

Is there a way to get smoke to pour out of the exhaust and block out the sun when you jump on the gas like those big truck cumming diesels? That?s my favorite part! Haha sarcasm aside don?t let this place make you feel bad about asking questions bro. It?s easy to happen I know but that?s what this place is for. People forget all too often that they were new too once.

Thanks, I mean I have no intention of just removing the muffler for "better sound" so i'll stick with just leaving it stock at this point.

I believe ACS makes an exhaust for the diesel with a sound tube.
