anybody change their batteries(2) yet?

i noticed today that my 2014 x5 35i has 2 batteries. one appears to be an H8 sized battery, and the other is half that size. i've never seen a half battery like that. i'd imagine its a special order $$$$ battery.

by the way, what is all that other electronic stuff around the battery? sure looks complicated.

It's just electronics on top of the battery. I think it's just your standard AGM battery.

Yes. I had both changed recently after a road trip. Vehicle's start/stop system works much now too. Not sure if there was a software update for that or if the stronger battery makes the feature less harsh.

Just remember that the batteries need to be registered with the vehicle as part of the replacement process as well.

Why would a 35i have the extra battery? Mine 2014 has just one.
