2014 F15 CPO 50i - good deal?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and is shopping for a CPO 2014 F15 50i. I have found two models near my area(one is a bit far). Let me know what you guys think about them.

The M Sport with DHP is a no-brainer.

I have been on the hunt for a X5 for over a month now. Those prices to me look to be fairly reasonable from what I've seen. I really think it boils down to colors and interiors. Black vs grey. Mocha vs black. And, if you're like me, wheels are fairly important as well. They're both sharp rigs. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Good luck.

The Msport for sure! I am also considering an X5 for my next mode of transportation. Seems harder to find the 50i models for some reason. I'm thinking of going from a 535i Msport to the X5 because I feel like I need a bit more space and I don't think I am a 7series type of guy. Still on the fence though. The X5 is a good looking SUV. Anyway, good luck, I think they both look great and prices are better than I would've thought for the 50i model.

There are much more significant differences than their paint and interior colors. M Sport and DHP vs. one without is much more impactful on the overall feel of the vehicle. If it boils down to color, you're missing some big differences here. Not to mention the better equipped one is also 10k miles shy (another much larger differentiator).

That second one in a no brainer, and if you don't buy it, I'm sure someone else on the forum will snatch it up.

Thank you all for replying! It seems the DHP is the winner. I test drove the first one and already thought it was an amazing ride. Will drive up to TN this weekend to test drive it! I do actually prefer black over gray... The M-sports one has three previous owners already, I don't know if that makes any differences.

Usually CPO x5 is after a 3 year lease - so most of them are 1 owner cars, but of course there's always an exception. Those 3 owners - were they real owners or one of them was just a dealer reselling the car?

I was the fourth owner of my E70. As long as it's clean, who cares....

Yes, from the Carfax, they seem real owners. It just makes me wonder why they all sell this car in a year... Carfax doesn't tell everything. Maybe I am thinking too much.

M sport for sure !!

I just picked up just about the same X5 for 48k and 19 k miles, but mine has a few more options. I would drive it and go from there.

I don't think I would pay more than 42k for it.

Let us know...

Whatever reason previous owners had - I don't think it's anything related to mechanical issues as that is 100% covered by warranty. I find it hard to believe that 3 different people would be so afraid of unexpected mechanical issues that they sold it in 1 year - when car was and is still covered bumper to bumper by BMW oem warranty. Doesn't make sense to me

I can see the only real negative, well ok maybe 2 real negatives of owning 50i:
1. MPG sucks
2. It depreciates (but so do all other cars)

IMHO Lexus dealerships are FULL of unsold cars 1-3 years old that previous owners sold - but it doesn't mean there's something wrong with them all

Congrats on your new ride! Does your CPO only have 5 years of warranty too?

It seems hard to knock off $2.5k, but I will try.

Seeing those prices makes me cringe on how bad prices have depreciated just in the last 6 months.

Thanks again for the additional info! I don't think I would care about the MPG. The depreciation is a lot higher for the first 2 years I think. Now it is already half of the MSRP.

Cannot wait to test drive it!

Thanks! That makes sense. The second owner could be a dealer.

M-sport one does not have Driving Assistance Plus (acc) it seems. I was recently in the market and chose a non-m-sport with acc since I wanted it (it has saved my a** a few times in tailgating vancouver traffic) and could not find a m-sport with acc. Just FYI.

^I don’t have ACC but mine has the safety feature where it will allegedly brake in the event of a forward collision. Our i3 has ACC and it’s slow and jerky. I always disable it.

The other non m-sports one has ACC. It's cool, but I can certainly live without it.

Does your 50i have lighting package? I cannot tell whether this one has it from the picture... BMW NA site says it does, but the dealer site says it doesn't...

I don't think any of us bought X5s because we thought they would somehow retain their value. Especially now, with the 2014s all coming off lease, the market will be flooded with them.
