Discovered a "new" feature

After over 2 years of ownership, I found this in vehicle settings, climate, front seat heating:

I like this, because the heat on my back helps my back pain, but I don't need a toasted ass.

Volvo originally invented heated seats not because of cold climate, but for stress and comfort of the drivers lower back. Add in some heat bottom seat and swamp ass can become uncomfortable LOL. I have mine set about 3/4 for the back as well.

Wonder if they brought this back in a software update. My 2012 GT had it, but 2015 X5 does not. Will look later today.

Settings-Climate-first option on the top.

I don't think my 2017 has this either and I have the cold weather option as well. OP do you have standard seats or upgrade?

I have the multi contoured seats. Maybe they’re needed for this?

I'm standard seats - The only climate option for me is the rear ventilation on/off. Which won't stay off BTW.

Yes I have upgraded seats in my 50i. Just checked my wife's 35i with standard seats and the option is not there...

Wonder if it is possible to code? There are options to change the intensity of the button level settings for both back and seat via coding.

Weird. I can’t imagine they used a different heating element in the standard seats. Off topic, but a recent loaner I had, had the standard seats and I preferred them. They were unventilated so maybe that was it.

Maybe leave the AC on while running the heated seats. :-)

Use this for my back pain every day almost. On the way to the gym especially helpful.
