I'm also not very excited about seeing this. The interior is great, but the outside is quite boring. I can think of many other SUVs that I think look better (Cayenne, Range Rover, Evoque).
I'm also sure the next Q7 is going to be a beauty. Nevertheless, I'm sure this will sell well. Cheers, CSL

So between this and the refreshed Cayenne (should be here by the end of the year); which would you choose.
pros of the X5 1.) 4 year free maintenance, good drive feel (should be similar to the E70) 2.) A lot more kit for the money 3.) faster acceleration pros of the Cayenne 1.) Its a Porsche...best handling SUV on the market today 2.) I like the looks 3.) cheaper base price 4.) lighter curb weight 5.) snob appeal

Why BMW still using that ugly ancient C-pillar line? Is it really that hard to get rid of, pretty much every other SUV on the market doesn't have it. It looks much cleaner without that line. Also, that hump in the rear hatch doesn’t look very clean either.

Still amazed at how bad it looks / how much the designers have messed up. Head designer in the vid should find a new job. "presence", "homogenous lines with the lights". Total BS ? Maybe. Maybe not.
I was warming to it a bit but these photos don't do it any favours. |

don't like the x-line design pkg, but i really like this SUV overall. Bimmerang well executed in this version. Price is pretty high, but N63Tu is kickin' ass and taking names. No one will be able to compete with that.

Not a good upgrade!
And if it's anything like my 2011 X5 it will be in the shop half it's life Wish German cars and SUVs where all made in Germany. My 135i has been a great and fun car. Never again will we buy a BMW SUV or any BMW made out side of Germany |

the older model looked so much more muscular and unique....the new design language doesn't suit it at all....
The interior on the other hand looks great. |

This car looks really soccer mum now. When will they bring out an X5 replacement - muscular, short and wide! This looks like an X7 even though it isn't!! |

Put some extended wheel arches on it wrapped around 20's with an aggressive off-set and it's just fine....
Interior is a hell of a lot nicer imo than my 011 X35d's was and hopefully the awful E70 steering has been improved too. All that said, i am actually leaning to a smaller vehicle than the F15 when my X3 lease is up...X4 (M maybe?) or Porsche Macan... Wife has an E70 35i and we don't need two beasts in the garage.

I can't understand why anyone would buy this over the Cayanne...
I really liked the outgoing X5 and this one doesn't even look like an evolution. The design makes it look so big and chunky. Maybe it looks better in person.
