X5 (F15) Amplifier Replacement - Trim removal
Hi All
I have been doing some research on intermittent sounds issues on my X5 (F15) and its likely to the the amplifier unit in the boot (left side) that needs replacing. I can get a second hand unit for a reasonable price, but before I go ahead, I want to make sure I can remove the trim panels on the left side of the boot to get access to it. I got half way through removing the trim panel, after removing one plastic plug and the T20 nut, as show by the red circles in the image. However, it looks like the plastic rear door trim (question marks in the image) is holding it in and was wondering how to remove that without breaking it. Any advice, most welcome Jon |

I can't tell you how many times I had to remove both panels trying to troubleshoot my "No Sound" issue. So definitely remove the net panel first and then I believe there were the two places where you circled but then there is another plastic plug at the very bottom of the trim...basically below that 2nd question mark. It's somewhat of a pain in the butt and the plug will be facing you (so you will see the top of the plug) if you are in the back seat and looking into the trunk.
Note, you do not pull out the trim...the panel is pulled out from underneath the trim.
