Front right side axle specs
Hi
I have to replace the front axle on the x5 and I found two different parts. One is 1011cm the others 970s. The red on bmw seems to be 31607622914 Which indicates 1011. But then all third parties are 970s For example ridex here https://m.autoparti.it/ridex/15782305 What am I missing beside 40cm 😂 Anybody’s can shed some light? Thank you all |

We need your VIN to be of help or you need to look up the information by your VIN if you're uncomfortable sharing your VIN on the forum.
Using a site like realoem. com or bimmercat.com...take note of the supplemental info that is below the diagram. Sometimes its at the top of the part nbr index (you'll see a list of option codes you can select to generate the correct part nbr index) and sometimes the supplemental info is in the columns. Look for build date info...sometimes there's a change in part nbrs based on production date/build date. If it lists an option that has YES listed but the answer for your specific BMW is NO then that part nbr does NOT apply to you. Using Realoem or Bimmercat (if its up and running) you can also access old and/or succeded part numbers when you click on the 11 digit BMW part nbrs that is correct for your vehicle. This can help sift through the many vendors selling parts that are compatible or exchangeable. Once you have the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr using realoem or bimmercat...you can then do a google search using the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr. This will help root out the wrong part and give you a list of vendors that are selling the correct part you need.

Based on your VIN, your build date is 8/2014…and the shafts are different lengths. The left side is slightly shorter than the right side. I don’t know if there’s a difference, but since they have RHD (right hand drive) models in Europe…if shopping on that side of the pond, make sure they are searching for a LHD f15 X5.
The left shaft shaft (#1) is 698mm and the right shaft (#2) is 1011mm. There appears to be multiple 11 digit part nbrs that are compatible/exchangeble…just be sure to search using any of the correct part nbrs based on which side axle you need and production date info.
