Please help me wake from a colour choice nightmare

hi all,

I am thinking about ordering a edrive X5 soon having had a major wobble over the XC90 T8 hybrid. In many ways it looks the better car but i'm such a BMW lover I don't think I could bare it.

My headache is colour. I love ivory interiors but we have a 2 year old boy and worry it's a crazy decision. I know people recommend contrasting int/ext but my thoughts are glacier silver with ivory leather/black world??

I have found myself strangely drawn to the mocha interior though.

My questions are:

Am i insane for thinking ivory with a toddler?
If not ivory world or black?

Has anyone got a pic to share of the combinations suggested?

Thanks in advance

Rob

I have the Ivory White Nappa interior design package. It is gorgeous, but even my little white puffy dog leaves dirt pawprints everywhere when he is in the car. You would have to be very vigilant in keeping it up with a toddler I imagine.

Yes, insane is a good word, unless you don't mind a dirty car. The black interior is quite sharp and masks some of the dirt.

Thats the thing... darker color "masks" the dirt or jean dye. You should still clean your leather periodically regardless of choice of color you get IF you want to take good care of it. OP in my opinion you should just choose the color you want and enjoy your new ride!

I have a 5 year old boy and a 6 year old boy. They touch EVERYTHING. In the winter, I'll be worrying about snow/salt, etc. I couldn't imagine a color other than black with kids. I especially like it with the anthracite headliner.

My car shows no fingerprints, pen marks, or anything that's associated with kids. I love the look and wouldn't get anything else.

That being said, just as Kzang said, get what you want and don't look back.

I have a two and a half year old and got the Napa Ivory. Beautiful interior with the natural wood trim. The dash is a dark grey leather instead of black which is a really nice touch. Help transition from the black headliner to the light interior. 2 months on we're fine. Get seat back protectors for the front seats. Clean and condition leather once a month. Takes 15-20 min. Get BMW weather mats and you'll be fine.

Ha, just wait until your kids get older and play baseball or softball, and you end up carpooling a bunch of kids after a game. Kids with dirty pants and shirts on the seats, muddy cleats on the floor mats, and dirty baseball bags in the back. That's pretty much been my life the last few years and will be for a few more. Fortunately I have car detailing company in my garage at work, so virtually every Monday morning I drop it off to clean the interior. So in the end, it doesn't matter what color you get -- get the one you love.

Everyone here has the right answers. If you're going to be diligent with cleaning the interior, get the color you love or you may regret it. With toddlers, everything gets touched, marked up, spilled and dirty at some point. With darker colored interiors, it's easier to let it slide by.

My dealer offered a nano coating, with a five year warranty for any stains. I have the mocha nappa, so it is unlikely it will need a lot of protection, but there are care options that help you maintain the ivory, near ivory.

We had ivory interior in our 550GT and it faired pretty well with little kids. -Well enough that I ordered ivory design package for our 40e that arrives next week.
