Do 19 inch M sport wheels have different widths?

I am looking to use my current wheels as a winter set, and get another set for summer use. I don't mind the 19s I have now, but would prefer my summer set to have a lower offset so they are more flush with the fenders. I also prefer comfort over looks (lots of highway driving), so I would like to stick with 19s rather than go with 20s.

On a website selling used (in apparently great condition) OEM wheels, they list two different iterations of 19 M sport wheels- one that is 19x9 with a 38mm offset, and the other a 19x10 with a 21mm offset. But on BMWs wheel configurator, the details of the 19 inch M sport set says they use the same size tire.

Are the rears really an inch wider than the fronts, or are the ones with a 21mm offset indicative that there are two different versions of M sport wheel?

Mine are the same width 19x9. I think the EU spec cars may have different sizes front and back.

Interesting. If you go to the classified section for F15s, there is a UK user selling staggered 19" wheels and tires. Link to listing:

Thanks for info everyone. Makes sense. These questions are because I'm trying to decide between another set of 19s for summer use or go up to 20s....I don't want to give up ride quality but love the looks of the 20s, and there are actually more choices in tires if I go up to 20s (if I want to go wider, which I do). If I go 275/45r20 all around, that is only slightly larger than the 275/40 OEM fitment, but would give a tad more sidewall. I know my odo may be a touch off, which is fine. I would also go non-run flat, so maybe in the end, going to non run flat 20s would feel the same as my run flat 19s?

Sorry....stream of consciousness....thanks again

I decided to go with the 19x9 M sport wheels. One of the main reasons I got out of my Lexus after only 2 years was that it had too firm of a ride. The X5 rides fantastic the way it is, and I didn't even want to take a chance of worsening the ride at all. Found a BMW dealer in Florida with a factory take off set- less than 10 miles on the wheels. Came with Michelin Latitude tour HP Run flats, TMPS sensors and center caps...$1300. Free shipping and no tax. Too good to pass up. Fully balanced too....so I can just slap 'em on the car when they arrive.
