M sport and Running Boards

would this be crazy?

i always loved running boards on suvs, and i have a feeling i might like them on the x5.
wondering if theres anyone around who has msport with running boards.

It would look out of place and they are only ornamental anyway

tbh it does look out of place but i'm wondering how it would look with the Msport lip and rear diffuser with the board painted black

People like to make blanket statements especially on the internet. This forum is full of owners who find the boards useful, including some my passengers.

Agreed .... Mine (not an M Sport) will have boards when I take delivery on Friday and they certainly weren't ornamental on the X5 I tried in the showroom

I got them on my Luxury Line because the wifey wanted them and personally I think they look good.

my intention was to paint them to match the black OEM paint.

the whole board inlcuding the top silver

I love having them! I'm sure to some folks they look like a decoration, but they get used every day. Over time, I'm hoping they help keep the side of the seat looking good, too.
