Low oil level warning

Hi Guys,
I have the 50i and just got this warning, is it ok safe to drive tomorrow to the Stealer approx 25miles away to get some oil? Just had my oil changed around 2500 miles and I was driving in sport plus for maybe 20 min on friday
its very weird the truck consumes so much oil
Thanks all

Owners Manual says to get oil within the next 125mi/200km if you're at oil level LOW.

2500 miles ? My first is scheduled for 10000 miles. Did the dealer need to change it sinner than typical ?

Some people pay out of pocket to have their oil changed at 1,500 miles or 2,500 miles to get rid of the metal shavings from the engine.. It's possible solarc is doing the same..
I did my first oil change at 5,000 miles scheduled by the dealer.

Solarc, I'd just hit an auto store and put in a quart or two.. unless you feel like there is an issue.

How many total miles on the X5 ? Like Kzang said, if not worried put 2 QTs in and call it a day. If you are worried, have the dealer do it and note that it is consuming oil. Hopefully they just messed up at the last change and left it a little low.

And if they admit to leaving it a bit low, never go back. If I remember correctly, my 550 took 9 quarts with a filter change- period. Not a little more or a little less.

Using 2 quarts over 2500 miles is on the high side, but not a red flag - yet. Keep you eye on it over the next 2500 miles. Maybe they changed the weight (viscosity) of the oil since the last change. That can influence engine consumption.

Also, if I owned the car, I would take another car and go get two quarts of oil from the local auto partz platz and fill it up before driving it again since oil is meant to cool, lubricate and clean - with more than 20% missing, to me that's significant. If I leased it, I would drive it to the local deal and say WTF?

I changed mine at 5000 and the dealer changed it at 9500. I used the dipstick to check and my level never went down. 2 qts. in 2500 does seem to be excessive. I agree with 42pilot - go get some oil and put it before driving to dealer. Don't risk damage to your engine. Do you notice any drips on the garage floor? Can you have a friend drive behind you to see if there is noticeable smoke?
