And what about the unreliability of the n63 BMW engines series, of which I'm sure you know. In fact N63TU is the same engine.

I"m not familiar with the engine in the M50d so can't really comment. If i were to go 50i i wouldn't keep it past warranty thats for sure.

Alan, last question.
I planned to take the F85, but I did not like their optional seats - 4MA Multifunctional. In our country F85 comes in standard with Sports seats
(thay are practically the same as in the F15. Here in details http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1145882).
I sat in similar seats, they are certainly more convenient than 4MA, but they are far from the Comfort seats.

Could you please advise me? To take the F85 with sport seats or F15 5.0i with comfort seats? I would like to have a powerful car, but not lose in a comfort.

Thanks

Can't comment since I have limited seat time in a F85. I do say that the multi countour seats in my F15 are amoungst the best seats I've ever had in any car.

This is the certainly one of the best looking X5's on the forum

Well done - really like your choice of mods and keeping your X5 looks OEM+. $ doesn't seem to be an issue….any reason you didn't spring for the 50i? Just wondering since you're immediately did some performance upgrades…

Thanks! 50i would have been nice but its mega overkill for the roads I am on 99% of the time. I could have went for it cost wise but I would have had to cut back elsewhere (mods) which i wasn't willing to do

Thats an extreme compliment because I am quite a fan of his modding style. Both his E90 and F10 are pristine examples of perfectly modded cars imo...

That is the stock adaptive M suspension. I don't plan to lower it because I think it looks fine as is. Rides great and handles even better. The wheel gap doesn't bother me at all.

I have been considering the SVs for a while now and your car has made my decision clear. What a great example!

How is your ride with those tire sizes after putting on some miles?

Also do you think I would have any rubbing issues if I go with a slightly higher side profile tire? I'm looking at 295/40 in the front and a 325/35 in the back. That would be about 1 inch higher then your tires.

Would you recommend the 5mm and 12mm spacers?

The BBS SV's have been great. They have been handling the NYC roads without any issues so far (knock on wood) and they really ride BETTER than the stock 20" RFT. 22" non RFTs without question rides better than 20" RFTs. Can't comment on going with a taller tire. Search the member Opasha. I believe he went with a taller tire on his 22" reps and he said he only has minor rubbing up front at full turn.

One thing i'd like to mention about the anthracite SV's is that the finish is satin/matte so they require more work to clean. You can't just wipe the wheel down with a dry rag anymore. You need some sort of cleaner, wax, quick detailer to really clean these wheels. Not a huge deal but just expect to spend more time cleaning each wheel compared to normal glossy finished wheels.

Alan, your car looks amazing! Perfectly modded for my taste! Best looking F15 I've seen! I wasn't looking forward to changing to a bigger car next year (the wife expecting twins) as I love my 435i GC but now I've seen how good the F15 can look, I'm quite set on taking an OEM+ approach like you have done. Thx man!

OP great photos and effort on your car. Could you please tell the offset of your wheels (front and back)? Also did you consider lowering your car? What do you think of the stock ride height? How's the ride?

Thanks guys....

Wheel offset are ET38 in the back and ET40 up front. I have the adaptive M suspension on my X5 so it's already a tad lower than the standard suspension. To be honest the ride height doesn't bother me at all.

I have to agree ride height with 22's and adaptive looks perfect. Main reason why I didn't change mine either is because I kept looking back at Alan's pics haha. After getting my f15 it is actaully lower than my old e70 with eibach springs

Good grief.. 335s?! I've seen stock 315 rears rolling around town and thought they looked like tanks from behind. Yours must look so menacing from behind nobody would dare tailgate you!

Very well done on debadging the car. Nice build overall

I thought that way until I went with eibach's mild drop. Now the gap looks just right with 22s.

Hey Alan! So glad I stumbled onto this thread! I was actually driving next to you on the Gowannas one morning about a month ago. I couldn't stop staring out how tastefully perfect your car is modified. Definitely the best looking X5 out on the road... and I'm not even a fan of white! So beautiful. Made me configure an X5 online the second I got into the office after seeing this. Congrats dude!
