MPE on a 35i is one of the best sounding exhaust I've heard in a while.. I would even go as far as better than some M cars. You can't get this on a diesel.

I owe that one to both you and dubsesd. The boss gave me the green light to buy myself a Christmas present so I'm going for the MPPK and I figured I owe it to myself to get a gift in the spring (dubsesd reco) so I'll go for the MPE...it's never ending.

Good choice sir...I installed it just to hear my wife drive away hahaha. My z4m is much louder and raw but the x5 mpe with mppk is very civil and quiet in the cabin.
Back on topic..let us know what you decide with your purchase

Yes, correct. All I'm saying that I'm not after .5 seconds of faster acceleration or better engine sound...
Does the MPPK make the vehicle more fuel efficient or less? Does it make it more environment friendly? These are the nerdy questions I'm more interested in But are we saying that the 35i is only good if it has the MPE or MPPK? Last edited by Shaw; 11-26-2015 at 09:01 AM.. |

I thought you were holding out for the diesel?? If I remember correctly you put on about 8000 km a year. If that's right you'd be filling up that 35i 10 times a year. I think diesel i'm guessing is 8 times a year.

I probably should not have made a fuel consumption comment on this thread. Nor should I have stated an opinion on the 35i vs Diesel. Shaw had told me they do 8,000 km a year so I didn't think the Diesel's fuel consumption savings was such a significant factor. That's it. We should probably take the discussion over to Fuel Consumption thread. Can't recall exactly where that is but I'm sure there would be some good debate happening over there. Shaw, the decisions all yours big guy. Please disregard my comments on the fuel consumption figures. Regardless of what path you take, you will have the ultimate driving machine. Enjoy.

So don't sweat it...your point matters as much as anyone else... So guys here's a new update received from dealership that is a complete turn of events. This is following my request that BMW should offer a discount to have us consider the 35i: "We spoke to BMW and actually the delay in 2016’s is due to the government wanting all manufacturers to delay new model year diesels so it is neither BMW dealer or BMW Canada at fault over this. They are merely complying with them. Because of this they cannot offer any financial assistance." Thoughts? Very fishy IMO! |

My wife drives this x35d 100% city in Comfort mode and before we switched to the winter tires it was almost every fill the same - 10.9L/100KM and 850KM for the full tank.
Ah, I like this type of pics, so I have to post mine too |
