Black Reflectors on a Mineral White
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! I'm currently debating if I should buy black reflectors for a Mineral White F15, most of the trim on my X5 is already blacked out.
So should I bite the bullet or would that look terrible? Thank You. |

I just installed my painted front reflectors that I got from Ben @ RGsport.
Mine are the same color as my truck. Once the paint matched piece was installed, it totally disappeared and was practically seamless against the body of the truck. It looks like the euro version now with no front reflectors and is super clean. This was my intention. I do like contrasting accents but the reflector is not an accent piece. It was put there for the US market so for me making it disappear was the only way to go. |

@bayareabimmer , well, play around with it. Try cover it with black electrical tape first and see how do you like it.
I personally won't do it.

Space grey can be pulled off better than mineral white with the dark reflector in my opinion.
But hey its your ride, mod it to your taste and liking Everyone has different tastes and what looks outstanding to some, may look like garbage to others

I wouldn't do black either. However, if there was a smoked version, that would look good on a white car.

I had ours wrapped in tinted film...smoked look. I preferred this to a mineral white painted option that often doesn't seem to match well.

I have installed others, and it didn't match as close as mine.

Here is a picture of my MW X5 with Smoke/Tinted reflector,
i have a friend that owns a tint shop so he didn't charge me anything for tinting my cars. so i ask him to tint the reflector to see how it would looked compare to buying matching color reflector. I think i going to keep the smoke/tinted look, plus my wife M235i AW in the background that we just picked up earlier this month |

Smoked vs. Painted/Dipped front reflectors
I was debating on buying the color matched front reflectors for my X5 or just try to have them Plasti-Dipped. Does anyone know if this would work?

Plastidip can only do so much. First the color won't match well, second its glosifier is not as gloss as the oem paint, and lastly, it attract dust and lint due to its texture.

I ordered at the near beginning of Nov. I thought I was the only one. Are you supposed to pick it up at the DMV?

I wouldn't do it on MW. You can get the same look if you just removed the reflector entirely leaving a hole there. It can work on darker colors but personally i would only do color match for the front and rear or leave them stock.
