The BMW M Performance Power Kit features engine tuning software and a new M Performance Engine Air Intake system. In addition, a replacement M Performance Engine Cover and Rocker Panel Decals provide the mark of distinction this retrofit deserves. They also charge $750 to install it.

The X5 is just software flash, two decals and badge under the hood. Install should be an hour labor at most. |

Just finished installing the RC, thanks to Ben on the fast shipping
So first thing I noticed when installing the RC... ?WHY? did BMW decide to use torx screws instead of metal clips to lock down the airbox??? The install would've gone so much faster. Thats my rant, on to the good part. Install was pretty straight-forward, plug & play, zip-tie the wires neatly around the engine bay, keeping the wires away from any high heat areas, and then find a suitable dry location to mount the RC box. Went for a quick test drive and there is a noticeable increase in power from stock. IMO Well worth the $$. |

Everyone that has gotten the RC tune has given positive feedback so far EastCoast335i drive around in B for a good bit for the car to get used to the changes. Then I would bump it to C. I'm betting you will love it I went to D for about 100 miles and I feel like the engine is not as smooth so I went back to C.

Does anybody with a MPPK or RC or both live in the Bay Area?
I have a e70 50i and the lease is up in a few months. I tried to like the 35d but I don't. The 35i is ok. It's sort of punchy around town but I would not be happy with it stock and don't want to gamble on liking it with an MPPK and RC. If someone local has it installed and could give me a ride, it would help me decide between ordering a 35i or a 50i. Maybe even just keep my e70. Let me know! |

I just ordered BMW's MPPK, should be installed this week and I can compare the differences. Really like the RC, but since BMW actually tunes the engine, its covered under warranty, and doesn't have to be removed for service it was worth the added cost for me.
Once I get it installed and compare I may consider selling my month old like new RaceChip Ultimate. If anyone wants to save a bit PM me.

I changed mine to S2=C. I LOVE IT !!! B was jerky. I could feel the difference but it was not smooth ! "C" on the other hand is soooo smooooth and also powerful !! I do not even want to try D Unless some one who tried tells me "D" is even better ! Kzang ?
I drove on B for a 1000 miles. |

I'm at C right now.. And I find it to be a perfect balance of power and smoothness. I was at D a month or so ago and I felt it to be a little jerky. Maybe E might be smoother but didn't want to go up any higher to test it. Maybe later when the temps are cooler.

Is there any way to tell which type of harness your car has based on VIN or before purchasing?
The person who I am buying it from asked, which type I have and on the front page of this forum, it says which one "clicks in." However, I have to let the person know so they send me the right one. Thanks! |

I have a barely used Ultimate for sale if anyone wants to save $150. I used it for one month and decided to install MPPK instead, so no longer using it.
