How to enable traffic jam assist?

I read from this:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...stant.html#t=l

that X5 has traffic jam assist.

I have the 2015 X5, with park distance control, parking assist and land departure warning and auto cruise control with start/stop.

However, I can't seem to find the traffic jam assist option anywhere, and just trying it doesn't seem to work either.

Any ideas?

This feature isn't available in the US.

I always thought it tuned into some special soothing music, changed the temperature, sprayed some calming scents into the cabin, relaxed the steering wheel, and activated noise cancellation so you can stop hearing idiots who keep honking like it's going to make a difference. This is my idea of Traffic Jam Assist. Oh, forgot to mention massaging chairs.
If BMW made this an option in big cities like NY, Los Angeles, Washington, etc.. they would sell a whole lot more vehicles than this ACC Stop & Go nonsense. We aren't going anywhere, people, if we aren't going we don't need to stop.....

It isn't.

TJA can autonomously drive your vehicle up to 25 MPH, keeping a safe follow distance and performing light steering, so long as you have a finger or two on the steering wheel.

I retrofitted this to my X5 since I sit in traffic a lot. It works as advertised. The only thing I didn't change was the button, but it did require a module, new steering wheel, and a lot of confidence in my ability to code things.

What hardware do you need and what needs to be coded?

I already have self parking and lane departure warning, any other hardware?

There's a control module plus a new steering wheel. I said that in my post above.

I had it fitted from new. It's a button on the left side (bottom right) with a picture of a steering wheel.
At first I thought it was a gimmick but I use it all the time in traffic. It basically stops, starts, steers all automatically. You need to keep one hand on the wheel. In essence you can read a book when in a traffic jam. Works up to 40kmh about 25mph). I actually look forward to the day when it works up to 120kmh.

I ran across this post looking to respond to a different question on bimmerfest. You may want to look at posts #116, #119 here: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...fic+jam&page=6.

Do you think if one changes the necessary hardware, will it work on X5 without Parking Assistant function?
