DIY: Dashboard Camera

I know I've been promising some of the forum members on this. My apology, work has been hectic and the holiday season is one of the contributor.
Anyway, here it is. The DIY for Dashboard Camera. Should be similar for any other DashCam, but the one that I am using is the BlackVue DR650GW.
Have fun and feel free to let me know if there is something can be added or corrected.

RGSport-Dashcam.pdf

Here is the video sample for the quality.

He once installed a self-powered dash cam on his horse, with front, rear and bottom views. He gives coding tips to computer programers. Mufflers ask him to build them. Strangers offer him their car so he can test tuning chips. He is the world's most interesting car man.

I don't always mod cars, but when I do I share it on bimmerpost.

Yes. But really a Ben commercial for Ben. Like yourself, and many others here he shares a lot of knowledge with everyone.

Indeed, he does. Many members like him here that are valuable to our forums. It sounds cheesy, but I'm really proud of our F15/F16 community. Everyone's solid.

If you want to, anything is possible.
I got the tail out a few times, but I am not a drifter, so I don't like the feeling of loose traction.

If you code Sport + mode or have it in your M-Sport by default for others, all you have to do is put your car into that mode and turn off your DSC. Disabling your traction allows drifts. Of course, your tires will always take a beating the more you do it. Definitely do not do it near walls, traffic, or guard rails .

Being able to push your vehicle to its limits is really nice in a track. The only track experience I had was at the BMW Autocross, and it felt really good.

In your video I see vehicles in line close to each other, is it that crowded or were you part of that group? I saw one guy let you pass, were there others behind you?

Awesome, to both the dash cam and track footage! I've been looking into getting that exact dash cam setup from blackboxmycar.com.

Also, what was your best time of the day? Buttonwillow next right? watching this makes me not wanna sell my track car...

This is surprisingly quite empty compared to most track days I've been to. Especially this track, Streets of Willow.

Thanks.
Go download the DIY instruction, it has the pictures where I mounts mine.
I didn't time it, I was just enjoying the day and the free track day.
It is not the best car to track, so I wasn't trying hard.
Thinking of getting a weekend track car though.

@hyde, those were the beginners where they have to follow each other I think. This annual event was sponsored by the local BMW dealer a few months back.

Nicely prepped.
I am looking to get back into a Porsche again. I regret selling my 964. But hey, life goes on.

r33, just had mine today installed. Inavi (thinkware) QXD 900. Full HD front and rear. I was going to write a post on DIY install but you did a great job already. I have almost the exact set up with location of front camera (LCD) screen.
I have some additional pictures of my install with fuse box directions if anyone is interested. I already shared it with @opasha.

Fuse Box Picture

So just updating everyone...the power source to the fuse box pictures. On the side of the fuse box, you should find a fuse box identification card. I had to shrink the picture down to 1200x720 to upload. I can email some more pictures if anyone is interested. Plus I have lots more pictures but pretty much the same as r33.

@nameisjae1, go ahead email me the picture on the rear fuse installation, and I'll update the DIY.
