I've decided that I'm going to do the speaker and sound deadening installs myself. I just need to make sure I get the correct equipment that will work together. Here is the setup/combo I am considering...

I wouldn't get that amp. It is essentially the same power output as the factory HK setupp. It is equivalent to the revenant, not the newly released revenant pro. To get the equivalent amp to rev pro, that would be the Arc Audio PS8-50. They retail for about $1100 and you can play with the dsp.

I would also get the 2 ohm underseat subs. I purchased the 8 ohm from BAVsound and that was a mistake.

Thanks Shoop. I had already purchased the amp last week, so too late for that. I have the HiFi system, not HK, so this should still be a big upgrade. As for the subs, I did purchase the 2 ohm, arriving tomorrow. I am still undecided about the mids/tweets. I really want the Focal ES100k, but still doing research on the install as its not plug and play. What did you end up going with for your entire system?

Gotcha. I had the HK already. Should be a dramatic improvement for you. I wish I had ignored pop the BAVsound ordering guide and ordered 2ohm. Oh well. I have replaced all 14 speakers with BAVsound and sound deadened all 4 doors. Stereo sounds pretty good, gets plenty loud but has no low end. Here is what I am installing next week.

Can you expound a little more on the built-in Basser subwoofer box & JL sub? Is it a lot more bass? Does it hit pretty hard? Any comparison to a 10" sub(like under the storage/spare tire compartment )? Did you put in the JL 8w3?

Took the next step today as the BAVsound stage 1 and ghost subs were a decent improvement, I was still missing the low end. Installed 2 JL audio TW3's, Focal 1000w amp. Much better than before. Next addition will be a good amp to power all the BAVsound.

Just to add the base system in the UK is a level below what's available in most countries, its 6 speakers, no tweeters or amp
I bought a very odd spec car as it was special build for emergency services, so has some very basic spec ( cloth seats/base stereo/ no navigation ) but has options like air suspension extra large batteries etc fitted

Just added two 10" to mine. The wiring harness made it a breeze with no cutting.
Yes need lCI 2 line out converter.
I have HK system.
Added two shallow SKAR 10" with 1200 watt SKAR amp.
Used a dual shallow truck box and flipped it to angle with back seat. Didn't lose much space. To access bottom trunk area I just lean both seats forward. Added sooo much more depth and richness to system. HK … to me… has great mids and highs… just needed bass to fill out.

In Short, the Pro can go down to 20Hz, instead of 33Hz. Plus a slightly better way to control gain/volume to minimize clipping. Audio quality
