Hi
I've just got an X5 and noticed ambient light in the driver door is very dim compared with others. Is this intentional? By the way I am using blue color.

You can adjust intensity under "Settings" from the main menu.

I've just received my X5 and the ambient light on the front near side door is dimmer than all of the others!!!

I'm going to contact BMW in a few days, as I don't want to be without the car after waiting 5 1/2 months to get it...... Plus it should come back cleaned after I've put a few miles on it

My driver door ambient light is way dim, too. I don't think this is intentional. I don't think it is just the idrive intensity setting, as all the others are bright.

Mine is the same all around. Try changing the color and see if that makes a difference.

Is this during daylight or at night? During daylight the lights are hardly noticeable but at night all lights are equal in brightness.

My passenger side light is significantly dimmer than the front and all other doors.

I think it will have to go into BMW unless anyone knows how to fix it?

Mine is doing the same.

I recently installed a MirrorTap & BlendMount for my radar detector and thought maybe I messed up and caused this. If it happened to you as well, then maybe I didn't! Hoping this is a BMW issue.

But it is certainly not a brightness setting issue, nor is it a color issue. I've tried all settings and colors and get the same result, always significantly darker than the other sections of lighting.

Try sitting in a different seat and look at it. LEDs being generally unidirectional and defused to cast wider can appear that way. If still dimmer, take it in.

Already tried that, it's substantially dimmer no matter where you sit. I plan on taking it in, haven't had the chance yet. I was just trying to see if anyone else had gotten it looked at yet.

I'm not really a fan of the ambient lighting, looks kinda cheesy IMO...I dont mind the backlighting above the door handles, footwells, etc...I just don't like the trim strips.
