Clear bra

Is anyone considering a clear bra for the X5 that would already have the cut outs for our vehicle?

We do a lot of highway driving in the Midwest. 4-5 hours each way on the weekends each way. Im thinking bugs, small stones, etc. So looking to protect the front end of the car.

Has anyone scouted these options out?

These are also know as Paint Protection Film (PPF)

I had mine installed on my 2015 BMW X6 //M-Sport form my BMW dealership since it had a much better coverage than any 3rd party bras that i looked into. The dealer one even covers the lower parts headlights grills and side skirts. When the car is clean you barely can see it. Its been raining here every day so i have not had a chance to wash but it allows it to stand out.

I had the car for the first week without the bra since they could not install it right away and a rock hi the front and chipped the paint. Had it touched up and the bra added and since then i have had a half dozen rocks hit it and nothing not even a mark. It has paid for itself already.

My F80 M3 is going in for full X-Pel Ultimate with Cquartz finest coating on Thursday. Once I pick her up I will be dropping off the F15 for full X-Pel ultimate and Opti-coat as well. Will let you know how it goes afterwards.

I had the full front xpel ultimate scheduled for install the next day after I took delivery. Was around 2k, iirc. Had all the edges wrapped, very difficult to see unless you really look. All my cars have them, my ocd prevents me from driving them on the freeway until it's installed.

Xpel Ultimate and Modesta Coating, I would say this is the ultimate in protection and shine. Full Body Panels is the way to go if you ask me. Half hood and fenders are to noticeable for my taste.

Hi Kzang. No, needs to be done by an authorized dealer. I used Phil from Detailer Domain in Norwood, NJ. Cost? Call Phil, I had a bunch of things done that day plus other cars done.

Usually there are 4 packages available for any car.
I got a quote for option# 4 on the image below for about CAD$ 1500 + tax.
I am sure if you look around you can find cheaper and more expensive options or just more options.

I don't have it on my F15, but we've got it on my wife's space gray 135i (E82). We went with the 3M protective film, turned out pretty well. In hindsight, we should have done the whole front clip, as the half hood / half fender is too noticeable for my liking.
