Which dealership in NYC/NJ area offer the best price on X5?
Hello,
I'm in a market for a X5 (35i+premium pkg). Do you guys know which dealership offers the best price in the NYC/NJ area? The best quote I got so far is $500 above the invoice, but people post deals much better than that in this forum. Thanks! Jeremy |

500 over invoice for the X5 in the tri state area is amazing imo. You can't compare prices from different regions. Areas that move a lot of X5 isn't going to give them away without any profit. I was still seeing guys pay 1-1500 over invoice not too long ago.

Also keep in mind that the X6 isn't as high seller as the X5 is so dealers might be more willing to deal. |

Biggest question to ask is "Do you have an allocation?" 500 under invoice for a car that you have to wait 2-3months for will suck.

I got $500 under invoice for a car ordered to my spec with the UDE promotion with George at Rallye. From the day i placed the order to the X5 arriving was 3 weeks total. They were also able to install the MPPK at cost and didn't charge me for any labor before delivery. Could I have found the X5 for maybe a few hundred bucks cheaper? Possibly, but to me having exceptional service/experience was worth it even if it meant i had to pay a little more.
Also keep in mind that I heard some dealers are only servicing cars that were sold by them or they would only offer loaner cars to those customers. Something to factor in as well. Alan

If you pick a good dealer they will treat you right for return business. My dealer gets the job done for me and has always gave me an allocation right away for all my builds.

I received 10.5% off MSRP or approx $1500 below invoice on a 2015 X5 new build (no incentives or trade-ins).
You can PM me for dealership details. Edit: A lot of members are talking about not going to the cheapest dealership and to take other factors such as customer service, Service dept, etc. into consideration, and I completely agree. Sometimes its worth paying more for better service. That being said the dealership I purchased from is a 2014-15 recipient of the BMW Center of Excellence award given to the top 15 dealerships in BMWNA. Don't just go with the dealership with the lowest offer. Go with the one that has a good service department. When you get a BMW, you don't just buy the car but you're almost buying the ownership experience. Paying a little more for the good service is totally worth it.

Does service department even have anything to do with sales? I think at most dealerships it's separate, meaning the service guy doesn't know/care where you got your car.

Just curious, why do dealerships order cars for people below invoice without incentives? How do they make money that way? I understand selling a car on lot, or one that is already on the way to the dealer, below invoice. But why use a build allocation to order a car that you will be selling under invoice?
