BMW Mobility kit: Add on to make it better and a warning too..

BMW mobility kit issues.

Anytime I have used my mobility kit to add air to a tire or tires, the screw on valve connector/ air chuck has been a pita to use. So a while back I found this piece on AMZ, fits perfect and makes it so much easier to use the air compressor. Especially on BMW wheels like mine, where the valve stem is in a narrow spot between spokes.

One issue solved, but today I realized the power cord on my mobility kit compressor, sadly enough is dry rotting. Decided I should warn others who might have a mobility kit they have never used or not used in a while.

The cord on mine is so bad, I can see inches of exposed wire, and I'm going to have to replace the cord (or the compressor). Can't be used as is.

So if you have a mobility kit that you have not checked for a while, I suggest check it and make sure your power wire is not dry rotted and cracking.

Below image from AMZ with the short extension making life easier. Well worth it IMO!

Which kit do you have? Do you have the one where the sealant tank is incorporated into the housing...or do you have the one where the sealant tank is a separate part?

(pics of your mobility kit would have been worth a 1000 words)

All-in-one mobility kit:

Mobility kit w/separate sealant tank:

Excellent question, I should have added a picture of mine, but don't have one saved.
Mine is an older one, back from my E46 days.
Looks like this, except my button is black.

Just ditch the mobility kit, Dewalt makes a pretty great portable air compressor similar size that can either be battery or plug into the car.

Model: DCC020IB 20v

Just add the tire sealant if needed.

I've been looking at the Makita version since I have batteries etc. already. Personally I stay away from Dewalt these days, IMO they have become a HomeDepot quality brand.

Regardless of that; <$10 for a cord, some soldering, and one less item going to the landfill too early. (except for the power cord)

I highly recommend the Milwaukee M12 Cordless Inflator

On sale at HD now too, with extra batteries. Super quick, and the battery holds really well. Rugged enough to throw in the trunk (or fly around in the back of the E92). I bought it at FCP hoping their warranty would stick, but I think they pulled it off their site sadly.
