I'll wait for the CSL variant. These entry levels are of no interest.

Carbon fork, seatpost and spacers? Bringing back the 1990s isn't something to boast about BMW. : :

WOW. To anyone that knows a modicum about bikes (like knowing which way is up), this is an insult at best.

As others have said, To slap an M badge on yesterday’s CHEAPEST technology is disgraceful.
Calling it Carbon Edition when it is an Aluminium bike is misleading advertising.

It doesn’t even look good. It looks like those free commuter bikes you see in the city.

Cray cray.

BMW drivers and cyclists are 2 of the douchyist most hated stereotypes on the road. I take enough shit from my colleagues for commuting on a bicycle and also driving an M3. This bike would put me over the top. I'd be in the douchebag hall of fame.

I agree. I cringe every time I see a bike from any car manufacturer. Especially mentioning carbon spacers, and calling an aluminium-framed bike carbon to begin with have me facepalming Just wish they would stop

The McLaren Tarmac was kind of cool, not sure if it was a slap on badge bike or actual McLaren design but damn it was expensive
That was a legit machine, but theres no way to justifying the cost at $20k.

Guys: this appears to be more of an all around city/dirt/gravel bike.

The Shimano 105 or Ultegra applies to road bikes. It's neither a road bike or Mt Bike really. The Shimano XT rear derailleur is actually fairly nice.

Now, this bike is not for me. Yet, for someone looking for all around bike with a high cool factor-- buy it. If I see another Trek, Specialized or Cannondale bike-- I might vomit.

Regarding the price: it's in the ballpark. About $1,900 USD. It's an Aluminum frame with Carbon fork, post etc. If you price out full carbon framed bike it's easily $3,000 and many exceed $10k with nice group set and wheels. Here the wheelset seems basic; brakes are more than adequate and good Conti tires.

This is like a BMW 325. Not super; yet; better than a Nissan Versa....

I applaud BMW for badging this bike. Keeps life more interesting.

I laughed at this post so thanks!
I would guess some motorists would actively try and run you off the road or even(gasp)....try and kill you!
Would be funny if cyclists got off bike when started to rain then he pulls out BMW umbrella while finishing his last dash to work sporting BMW shoes/watch and other garments would complete the douche-fest

I have no idea what are you talking about - this is my first bike since I was a kid and I know nothing about them. I just went to Canadian Tire and got the cheapest bike with disk brakes. It was on sale for 400 CAD (500 CAD regular).

I wonder if it's going to have the CS and CSL version. That Sh@& should come with every M purchase.

I love that they picture a bike with a vehicle that doesn't have the ability to simply add an OEM bike rack!!!!!

BMW, re-release that image with the M3 with the sunroof!

I'm not brand conscious when it comes to bikes. I road tested bikes from 5-6 manufacturers ranging from $500 to $3500 until I settled on something that fits my need and is comfortable for my body. I ended up buying a Cannondale with similar components but with front suspension for $900. What they have is a $900 bike for $1400.

Meh. Nothing to applaud them for.

I am an imbecile. It isn't a trek. For some reason, I thought it was a trek. But this one looks very well made. FYI, Trek's are bit expensive, hence I was surprised. Never mind!
