I wonder if they have added a sensor in Bimmerlink. When I did this about 2 years ago, Bimmerlink and Torque didn't have any module to get the transmission temperature. Whatever was there that I thought might be it was definitely incorrect values, so I used ISTA.

Bumping this for anyone planning a transmission fluid change. By loosening the valve body and letting it sit for an hour or so over lunch I was able to get nearly 6.8L of fluid in on refill. When you get it loose initially a ton of fluid pours out the T40 bolt holes and it was still dripping an hour later. I assume this is why the kit comes with 7L.

You have to make sure to torque the 17 T40 bolts to 8 N-M in sequence. Finding that sequence was not easy but it's attached here for reference for ZFHP70. There's another ZF doc for ZFHP45 floating around.

I searched in ITSA but couldn't locate initially so reverted to web search and finally found it the ZF repair manual. I imagine its in ITSA somewhere.
