Luxury Line was a way to get the 19s. After this winter in NY and cratered roads all around the city, as well as hearing from friends with busted rims was't really going for the 20s. MC Seats - had them on the prior 2011 35i and wouldn't want to be without them, even on short trips. Basically aside from HUD this is a copy of my 2011 build, with a difference being Comfort Access used to be a separate 1000 option. 90% of my driving is in the city on the weekends, so being on the budget i went for the non-M options. The only carved mountain roads here - are on ramps to the highways and bridges
Priced out your build for comparison...Its hard to get the basic essentials for this car for less than $60k. Although I think you have more luxurious items than me

I really wanted to buy the X from my local dealers but they wouldn't budge on price. Hence, I had to purchase the car out-of-state. Needless to say, I have no relationship with my local dealers.

Try enterprise or hertz local (off airport).

I agree with the dealer angle though. I would start there, see if they can get you a loaner or rent you one, maybe a discount at enterprise at least.
So I called enterprise and hertz and used the web for pricing information as well. Couldn't find a reasonable size car for less than $700 month and don't even think about getting a SUV as a long term rental. In the end I stumbled upon a 15% off web coupon which I was able to use in conjunction with my BMW CCA Hertz discount. Ended up getting a full size for ~$550 for about a month. That works for me.

Well I didn't see much difference between x-Line and Luxury - for me. Don't need running boards and the rest is mainly in aesthetics. So that's 900 less right there. 4 zone climate gives additional vents on the pillar between driver and passenger, plus when i have my parents in the backseat i don't have to sweat up front . Spare tire is cheap and useful in saving RFTs or allows me to swap to non-RFT winter set. Everything else being equal I think MC Seats are a 1000% improvement over the standard seats.

Looks like they really want my money and want it quickly. My production date seems to have moved up. Car is supposed to be ready on 5/10.

Mine went into production yesterday (5/5). Of course neither BMW website or phone system knows about it. I like my car being on 'double secret probation'

Here is the dealer message:
Your X5 just initiated production at 10 mins ago at 12:36:22PM US ET

P.S.
Reminder to myself to make an extra careful check on the delivery. Car is being built on Monday, Cinco De Mayo -

I canceled my first order on 4/30 due to better pricing from a second dealer. My second order flipped to production on Saturday and cannot be changed since they ordered satin aluminum rails instead of the high gloss black. They put in a third order on 5/5. I wonder when it'll get into production. The build sheet she sent shows 5/21 and I'm pissed because the second order's expected completion is 5/12.

did you notice that your car is a BSM X5?
I freaked out when my DG came up as BSM, called my CA (gen manager) at 1030 at night to make sure... he double checked the next day and confirmed it was correct on the order...
I guess all DG cars were born BSM at first...
Mine is still 112 status (ordered 4/30/14). I have no idea when it will flip into production.
Congrats, how are you liking that Camry??

If you have or will have small kids, you'll appreciate the soft-close doors too. Same with comfort access, invaluable for loading and loading kids and kids' stuff….

No I didn't notice BSM. Where do/did you see Black Sapphire on my order?

The Camry is surprisingly pretty peppy and the best thing about it is I can literally park it anywhere It smells like an old hotel room though.

didn't see BSM on the order but the car looks like BSM. I also ordered DG and my order looks like BSM (as pictured) and it says "... your 2014 X5d BSM..." when I first accessed it using my production number...
Again my CA told me all was in good order with the build, hence I assume its one of those "things" with BMW USA's site (assuming that your car had the same title when you first searched it using the production number)...nothing to worry about

Took Delivery on July 3rd

Recently took delivery of a beautiful Dark Graphite 35i with Ivory/Black interior. Pictures really do not capture how stunning this color is in person (yes I am biased )

Very very long story but I ended up having to reorder my X5 with a different dealership after my first order was shipped to NY instead of being scheduled for PCD. Needless to say, I still did not get an opportunity to do PCD because I was told the earliest delivery date would be production end + 2 weeks and I had been in a rental since May.

Well worth the wait though. Very refined vehicle and a big difference b/n the '14 and my previous '03.

About 150 miles from the dealership I purchased the car from to my home. After taking delivery and driving home there was noticeable burning smell being emitted from the car when I parked in the garage. I was careful to keep the RPMs down during the trip too. Source of the smell is not known at this time. Smelt it again on day 2 but not as strong. Have not smelt it since.

Excited to have a car again

Did a thorough sniff test today after a short drive. I believe that smell was coming from the exhaust as a quick whiff of the tailpipe matched what I smelt the other day. Not sure why it was so strong the other day. Have not driven the car for more than 30 minutes since I picked it up. I will report back if the smell returns.
