KW V3

My F15 has the base suspension with rear air suspension, but it's pretty wobbly and has a ton of body roll. I am looking for a stiffer ride and saw that KW released a V3 coilover for the F15 with rear air suspension. However, I searched all over the internet and have not found any one actually using it. If any one has it on your car, could you let me know if the coilover makes the car too stiff? I had the KW Street Comfort coilover on my wife's 328i xDrive, and while I love the performance, it sucks on bad roads - every time going over a medium sized pothole, the shock is very uncomfortable and makes the car feel like it's going to break. I heard the KW V3 is stiffer and want to see if anyone has feedbacks with it on a F15/F16.

Why note code m sport. It would give a stiffer ride with more stability in corners.

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean. My car has the base suspension and no adaptive dampers.

If you don't have EDC, most likely it is all around spring setup.
I have a client with KW V3 that I installed for him.
I test drove the car and it felt more solid then stock. Not stiff, but solid.

Thanks. I misspoke when I said I had base suspension. I have rear air suspension from specing the third row seats.

How about when you go over potholes? Is the ride still compliant?

Yes, in comfort mode, it's pretty wobbly and a lot of body rolls and make me not confident to handle the car. better in sport mode, but it still not solid even I have adaptive m suspension and m sport. r33_RGSport can you tell the KW V3 price for F15?

Over pot holes? I never drive over pot holes. RFT may bubble up over pot holes and in my case, aftermarket wheels will bend.
But, over small freeway connector bumps, it is more solid. Not waving up and down like before when it was stock.

I thought 2vf and 2tb ( sport transmission and adaptive m) could be coded if you had air suspension. Some coders may be able to comment. I could very well be wrong but I thought I read this somewhere.

My car came with 2TB because I have M sport package, but not 2VF since I didn't order adaptive suspension. I can code 2VF to my car but don't think it'll do anything since I don't have the adjustable dampers. I believe all the rear air suspension does is adjusting the height in the back based on the weight in that section.

Correct.

Is the body roll still significant in sports mode?

Adaptive M suspension doesn't completely remove the body roll but I think it drastically reduces it. Out of curiosity, did you adjust the settings in the iDrive? If you did and you still feel the body roll, then perhaps a drop and stiffer springs are in order. Or find a car with DHP which virtually eliminates the body roll.

when you say adjusting in idrive you mean idrive settings for sport and eco? or is there something else I'm missing?

If you have the upgraded suspension, then you are able to adjust it in the idrive for chassis or drivetrain settings.

No, Msport does not give you an upgraded suspension. You must order either adaptive M suspension which is only available on the Msport models for $900 or Dynamic Handling Package for $4,500 that is available on all models. Also it is a 50i and not a 5.0. It's not a Ford Mustang.
