Nice truck there the X5M!

Pulled into my work place parking lot this morning and two guys standing out front of the building smoking were watching me park. I park my X5 as usual and walk into the lobby to press the elevator button to go up.

The two guys come in and enter the same elevator as the one I'm in and both tell me at the same time, "Nice Truck you have there the X5M!" I respond, thanks but it's not a M, but a Msport Line. They both say Wow beautiful truck none the less.

Anyone else get similar comments?

I dropped my son off at school the first week I had mine...a non-m sport luxury line in mineral silver and two guys working at the school commented on it. In all my years owning cars I had never been complimented on what I drove by strangers. I thought the comments spoke to the level of luxury associated with the x5, as my color combo and line are not the most "sporty" for lack of a better term.

Real question is... was the Jeep already there? Why didn't you park on an end spot and/or Alan-style?!?
Agree with the strangers though: "Nice truck!"

Ok, there's like 5,000 other parking spots in that lot it seems, and that dude parks right next to you? I hate that!

Nice truck by the way. I get a lot of looks, too, because although there are a lot of X5's around, very few have the CF front spoiler and other add-ons.

It was a "she" and I felt the same way ha ha. But it's not like I could tell her to move or ask why she had to park next to me... It doesn't matter though because by 9:00AM the packing lots are full.

Never fails. You go out of your way and go over the river and through the hills to find the perfect spot and someone feels the need to park right on top of you. Drives me nuts.

Back to topic - I get the most recognition from other BMW owners, not so much from Joe Stranger, although it does happen now and then. I had an M6 give me a thumbs up when I had my '10 X6 50i.

Where I live, nobody would call it a truck.

I agree. I've heard that a few times around here and at my dealer and it never made sense. There is nothing about an X5 or any BMW that has anything to do with a truck. In fact, I usually go the opposite way and refer to it as our car. (As opposed to our F350...)

To the OP though, yes, it's always nice to get looks and kind words....

The lips seem drag the car bumper down to ground. From the front view, it looks so close to ground even it bite the ground.

Blackhawks I made it through winter Now it's your turn to install it!

E90325M looks are deceiving The ground clearance is not much lower with the lip installed. I would say maybe by an inch or so. Also the clearance is still much higher compared to your standard cars.

I want one but I am conflicted between this and race chip and some other items. Still haven't broken in the car yet - 500 miles in 5 weeks - 8 more weeks at this pace.

If you had to choose which way would you go.

Racechip ultimate is about $550 - $580 and the front spoiler lip is about $1,200 uninstalled.

If I had to choose between the two I would probably go with RCU. The tune really gives the 35i a big boost in low end torque. If you already have the MPPK tune from BMW, RCU, really compliments the boost even more. Dare I say that the torque would be very close to a diesel model on the "D" setting. However, as you can see from the many of my pictures I've posted of my X5 the front lip really transforms the Msport X5. Arguably some may say it looks better than the X5M

Seems like the ///M marketing strategies really worked.
Soon to follow, AMG.

If I recall correctly MB was the first to rename sport package to "AMG Appearance Package" then I believe Audi did away with UltraSport (USP) and went with the S-Line thing and BMW came out with M-Sport / M-Performance at the same time or around the same time as Audi.

Well AMG Sport "package" has already been folded into Mercedes-AMG division. Perhaps BMW will follow by bringing M-sport line into M-division...

Killer ride.

True story: A friend and his wife went to a mid day matinee movie that had been out for weeks. They were the only people in the theatre until the previews ended. Then another couple came in and sat right in front of them. My friends started laughing and got up and moved.
