Shame the muscular rear stance from current gen is gone. Those huge rear tires were what made the car for me.

Not feeling the new 2014 X5. It's so wrong.

I really think 21" wheels would solve the side view problem. The back is unfixable. On a positive note, I don't think the new Range Rover Sport is much better. At least this comes with free maintenance.

THIS. I thought the new x5 was the ugliest iteration of the x5, UNTIL NOW. The M-Sport version is athletic and sexy, minus the way she ends towards the back. I hope that lack of raking roofline leads to notable headroom and rear seat/cargo usability.

I think it needs Performance Grills and why not M Sport Brakes at least as an option?

What's with the wheels/gaps ?? I know those are 19s, but they look like 17s from the side profile...

I think there is a reason.....for a while all BMW's (02's,3's,5's,6's,7's) used to have the headlights mounted IN the grill. I think the the lights connecting to the grill pays homage to the past. Same with the kidneys leaning slightly forward (on the F30 and F32)...just like the old cars... Bavaria, E9, E28, etc...

Beautiful without all the ghetto curves like on Cayenne or ML.

I'm in agreement with everyone else about the side profile looking too much like a mini van. Also the rear is identical to the current X3 and WTF on the front...

The release of these pictures accelerated our purchase of a 2013 X5d, which we picked up Monday night. My wife cannot stand the iPod type screen and I wasn't feeling the new looks.

^This. Cayenne is butt ugly. ML took design cues from an electric can opener.

Why is the front end so vertical on this (and most of the new models)? It looks terrible and doesn't flow.

Thanks for correcting me, didn't realize that.

I guess that fact makes it even more weird that the gaps look so huge...

Agree 100% about the back end. It just looks X3 / mini-van boring.

The big issue I also have (that no one has mentioned) are the stupid big plastic fake intakes on the left and right side of the bumper. I swear my '12 X5 M Sport were completely functional. These great big lumps of plastic look cheap and I cant begin to fathom how bad they will look once the inevitable black plastic fade sets in from the sun. Cheap cheap cheap!

E70 has that too. Seems a lot of people scrutinizing what they feel are flaws of the F15 that were already on the E70. Maybe more noticeable on the F15 I guess or maybe people said the same thing when the beloved E70 came out

Again, no worse than the E70. It's an SUV, and "M sport" does not equal ///M.
