The LEDs in the car support additional colors that BMW doesn't allow us to select using the iDrive. You can code the BDC_BODY module to support override one of the existing color selections to use an alternate color, like purple. The iDrive display will still show what the original color is, though.
There's a thread here that details how to do it.

Mine is set to blue and it stays that way. However as previously mentioned, once you do it, you will have to lock the car to shut the power down. It does look nice though.
