Racechip ultimate, installed!

installed this module box on my 2016 x5m and felt a good difference in power.

I'm running the base setting from the factory but thinking to switch for higher boost setting on this incredible box since I have catless downpipes and bmc filters!

anyone have tried a setting 3 for example on the racechip ultimate??

can this box hurt the engine?

S1 stays on 1 unless you have a diesel. S2 starts on B. Monitor your boost and increase up to 20 peak for a good compromise in power and safety.

I spoke a G power tuning authorized dealer and he spoke of some issues that I could face with Racechip piggy back. He was talking about air to fuel ratio and about running rich and lean. any take on this subject?

As long as you stay under the peak psi factory mapping you will be fine as it will auto correct. Go beyond that and all bets are off.

Does Dashcommand (or even the OBDLink software that came with the OBDII scanner) produce accurate boost pressure readings after RC is installed? I guess I don't fully understand how RC works, but I thought it fooled the MAP / boost sensors. Would this also make the boost readings reported to the OBDII inaccurate?

I was wondering the same thing. My understanding that is that the ECU will never report accurate boost numbers back through the OBDII because it simply doesn't know what actual boost is if a piggyback is installed. Also the reason why if you install a boost gauge it would have to be one that taps into the manifold to get actual readings instead of one that gets it data from the port.

Tmap sensors are tapped. Back to back same day log picked up 3psi on DC , without/with RC. I'll have to look later today, but there should be a dedicated Map sensor that is being read by DC, not Tmap.

Excuse my ignorance, but your saying that the SAE.MAP should be accurate and not one of the ones that RC tricks?

In Dashcommand, if I select Dashboard and use the standard Tuxedo dashboard, what value is being reported in the "BST/VAC" graph? Is that where you are saying SAE.MAP is being reported?

Same question when looking at the Data Grid. I see "Intake Manifold", but it is reported as inHg or kPa, not PSI?

I guess what I'm asking is where exactly do you read your boost from? The Dashboard? Did you create your own gauge?

SAE.MAP as shown should be accurate.

These are the SAE.MAP sensors that will output actual manifold psi. RC intercepts the Tmap sensors on the intercoolers.

So even the CALC readings that some of the graphs show should still be accurate?

My data logging section looks different than yours and only produces SAE.MAP values in kPa or inHg.

I guess the proof will be seeing if the boost gauges show an increase in boost after RC installation.

If the manifold map sensors were faked out the af ratio would be wrong. That's why i like to keep max boost 21. The factory fuel map goes to 23ish. SAE.MAP has to be accurate or BOOM .
