An X5M may be in my future. What are key things to consider (maintenance, issues etc.) if I'm shopping used (2015-2016)? TIA!

-brake squeals
-clicking front wheel bearings at slow turns
-malfunctioning telescopic steering wheel motor
-tailgate rattle
-driver and passenger door rattles sometimes
-rocker panels get stone chips (never got this personally)

There's a solution for all of them except the first 2. If you can live with them it's a great car.

Mine has been bullet proof after 23k miles. Only issue was the steering column motor failing.

I'll note that my brakes don't squeal and that the wheel bearing clicking naturally fixed itself. Haven't heard it in thousands of miles...

Interesting list. While I've had the occasional brake squeals for me it has not been an overwhelming issue and I've had more squeal issues with my prior SL550.

I've not had any other issues on this list and I'm over 24k in miles and approaching 2-years of ownership.

I would do a search, and post questions about specific issues here. then you might get some more specific concerns answered.

Get what you're saying, but I don't have specific concerns. Wanted to see if there are general things I should look out for when I test drive them.

CPO should be a must. Or take over a lease that you can add CPO to at the end of the term when you tradition it to a purchase.

I've been thinking of changing vehicles, l but have 23 months left on the lease of my DG 2016. If someone wants to give me half of my security deposit (or about $4,300), they could take over my lease with an effective payment of somewhere in the range of $1,000 or a little more.

I only have ~9,500 miles on it, so miles left would be over 1,100 per month.
