Disable intelligent safety?

Every time I start the car, it enables. Turn the button to switch from green to orange - but it doesn't save previous settings, and I have to disable everything manually every time. I would like to only keep blind sport detection and nothing else. Is it possible, via coding perhaps?

While I have only had my vehicle for two weeks I did immediately turn off the lane departure wheel vibration thing. My safety button in the top middle dash is always red when I get in the X5M and drive. So, I haven't had any issues with it remembering my settings. I have a US market vehicle.

purely speculating but my guess is either 1. it doesn't like you taking front collision off and wants to make sure you intend that to be off every time (if so just change the sensitivity so it doesn't bother you) or 2) you need to save your seat memory profile again

Interesting point, I'll try playing with saving seat memory. Thanks!

I was invited to test drive the new 5 series, and apparently it doesn't let you turn off intelligent safety completely. You can only turn off blind spot detection and lane departure individually, but rear collision and pedestrian detection can't be shut off. I also hear a rumor there is a law requiring all cars to have these systems by 2022?

I don't think the lane departure warning could suck any more than it does. First thing I tweaked in the car besides seating position.

In the US, your preference should save to key profile.
But, it can be permanently coded out as well.

Seriously this stuff is very annoying. I need to figure out how to disable it for good, because it doesn't save to key settings.

To make matters worse, I test drove the new 5er, and I couldn't even disable these settings at all, the option to disable them is greyed out. I'm sure there's a way 20 menus down, but that's just insane. Is it some sort of government mandate, or is BMW going full retard?

Almaretto , you mentioned that this can be coded out, are you able to say how?

I am looking at disabling the "collision detection warning", permanently. The one that give the big red car logo in the HUD. I find that most of the other settings stay off upon restart (lande departure), and the button also stays orange. But, it always turns the collision warning back on secretly.

I do not have the specific codes.
