Engine oil warning/options?

Hi guys, I am now at around 7800 KM, then the "Engine oil at minimum level" warning showed up.

I only sent the car back in the dealer maintenance once, the system never remind me since,
I am trying to look for the engine oil that came with the car, but I am not sure I will be able to find it. If not, what would be a good engine oil brand alternative?

Thanks guys!

Add 0W-30 full synthetic API SL rated or higher.

Castrol Syntec European Formula is widely available.

Oil consumption is fairly typical for BMW V8. My 50i needs two quarts every 7,000 miles or so.

Yes it would. Download the BMW Driver's Guide app for your phone and have the whole owner's manual available any time. It's really helpful.

I just got my second oil change done at 6600 miles. I always check my tire pressure and oil level at least a couple times a week. The problem with checking the oil is that it just let's you know that oil level is OK. You really need to go into reset oil level to see exactly how much oil you have in there. I finally did that and I was half way when I brought it in to change the oil. I'll keep a better eye on that in the future.

Man that's legit. I wouldn't thought about to reset the oil level at all, I just wait until whatever the light is up.
I did my first service around 3000 km I think, next one is about 11,000 km.

Haven't had the need to add oil, on my previous V8TT Bmw I had to do it every 3500-5000 miles, I used to carry a quart in my trunk but not anymore.
