What I have noticed is with the racechip I get on average 2 MPG better than stock. I've also found Chevron to run a slight better MPG than Shell.
With Chevron, I'm usually in the 23 - 25 mpg combined. With more highway it easily goes up to 26+. I also don't drive it that hard all the time.
It is very low. I have seen quite a few members here run the Racechip while the X5 was brand new and I installed at about 500 miles. I have been talking to my dealer and he said the brake in would be around 1700 - 2000 miles. I always use Chevron too.

Has anyone noticed a significant mpg improvement with the RaceChip install?

Others will correct me, but imho there's no free cheese. BMW engineers are not idiots, holding back MPGs on purpose. You are not going to get significant mpg improvement - that's a myth. You can expect a bit more hp and tq that comes from higher boost and this isn't going to save fuel, if anything it will use more fuel

Hey All,
First timer here...

I need some help. I just received my Racechip Ultimate from Racechip.us yesterday and the harness they sent me has 3 pairs of connects. I have a '14 X5 35i (xdrive). Everything i read from the forum shows only 2 pairs are needed for installation. They sent me instruction for a VW turbo engine... telling me to plug one connection into the "manifold absolute pressure connection", another (2nd) into the "camshaft connection", and the 3rd in the "turbo boost pressure connection".

Can someone help me please! I wrote 4 emails and an FB messenger to them but still no response.

As I mentioned to you in the PM.
Only they can tell you since they are the one who knows what they gave you.
The possible chance are they sell you the RaceChip Ultimate Connect version, but the only way to be sure is to check the serial number where they are the only one who can or know since I don't have an access to their serial number database.

Gotcha. Yes I have the Bluetooth connected version. So maybe that is the reason for the 3 pairs of connections. Anyone know where those 3 connections are as stated in my post? I can at least try to get it connected. I can't find any schematics online.

Is this where plug A goes? Has anyone installed it with the C1 or D1 settings from the start?

Hi guys, can anyone tell me where the camshaft sensor is on the 35i? My RaceChip came with 3 plugs..got the turbo boost pressure sensor and map sensor installed but can’t figure out where the last one (“C”) goes. Did they send me the wrong harness? My version does have app connect..

Anyone familiar with the new models?

Looks like the ultimate / pro / connect, etc. have been replaced with RS / GTS and GTS Black
Everything appears more use friendly and all three models can connect via bluetooth to the app

I just wish they were offering a discount for existing customers and/or a trade-in deal for the new ones...

I wouldn't consider a piggy anymore if you had to buy one new, as flash tunes via OBD are finally out now. Check out MHD and BM3.

I'm still hesitant with flash tunes since me the end user can't affect it should I need to take it in with any engine issues. If they really look into it they will find things aren't right. At least a piggy back I can simply unplug in 15-20 min and nones the wiser.

It should come with the short instruction in the box from where you bought it.

I would still do PiggyBack as Maverik259 said.
Piggyback is very easy to manage (installation, removal, and safety).
The later, safety, is because piggy back system still relying heavily on the car's ECU failsafe.

OBD2 Flash is still easy to do if you really know and have background in doing things with badly written instruction. It also have aggressive power gain and some raise or even remove the failsafe feature.

Lastly, do you even notice that everybody started to have OBD2 flash tunes at about the same time? It seems like the products are not even their own, but it is a rebrand of one company that able to break the encryption.

I would though, do a dyno flash tune if I decided to build my own race car from a scratch. Not doing a flash tune on my street car, pointless in my opinion.

Isn't mhd still in beta? I wanted to go that route but so far, it looks like it's only available for the e series and not the f series yet, unless you're part of the beta group which is now closed.

Let me know when you start offering trade in deals RG! I'm in. Would love the simplicity to control this from my phone but not looking to make another huge investment lol

I have mhd for my n54, I only have great things to say about it. When I started with ots maps, they were solid and had often updates to the UI and maps.

Unless bmw built in new checks for the f series vs the e, I don't think a dealer would notice the flash as long as you went back to the stock tune before taking in.

First thing you do in those flash tunes is to backup your bin so if you need to revert back you're good to go.

I guess Racechip US is really gone. This was on their Facebook Page as well. Posted December 2, 2017. Maybe Copyright infringement? What else would make a company pack their stuff up and leave abruptly.
