You misunderstood. I know how to code 55.1 cars, but I never said anything about the ones tested being on 55.1. The cars these were tested on are before 54.3. 5AP is an FA option code. Even if the dealership updates your software, they are just repeating the step to enable it, which is VO Coding all ECUs except DME (not sure if dealer ever touches DME in software update.

Yeah so based upon these comments from 08bmw128i and your reply and then Alistairg comment shortly after I assumed it worked with 55.1. My bad, no big deal.

I am not sure if AntiDazzle or DLP is the cure for this.

Maybe someone that drive at night time a lot can do a video to show others how it actually work.
Such as creating the tunnel etc.
I have kids and live in the city, so no way I can test that.

I'm willing to do some video action at night here in Germany on the back roads and autobahn. I just need to get with Omar and get it coded. I have the LED package as well.

This is great news for those that don't have full functionality, although admittedly it worked fine on my X5 from the very beginning. It's a habit of mine to VO code most modules, especially when the target function gathers data from multiple sources. It also survived several ISTA/P sessions at my preferred service center. I'm pretty sure I posted about this here or over on Bimmerfest.

Nonetheless, a stellar contribution opasha!

For those watching the video, the most evident place where it is working is shortly after the 3:34 mark.

Thanks for posting this. Can you please give us a verbal assessment of how you thought it worked? I can see some effects after 3.5 minutes, but given the street lights I could not quite make out the movements, nor could I see the left beam shine beyond the shadow spot.....hence soliciting your descriptive assessment.

Matt -

I can tell you that my lights have been very active. The left light in particular adjusts quite a bit to compensate for oncoming traffic. I see the tunnel effect for cars in front of me at long distances. At closer distances, both high beams shorten up. You can see in the video how they lower as he approaches the car in front of him.

Bottom line is that they work great and I am amazed that this technology is sitting dormant in all US equipped LED cars.

Hope you enjoy them.

Did you also change the speed at which they become active? I think they get activated at 35mph if I am not mistaken, but this can reduce it:

And optional setting for activation:
C_HBA_ENA_V_LO werte=18 (15 MPH)
C_HBA_ENA_V_HI werte=28 (25 MPH)

opasha will certainly know.

I have been inundated with a bunch of projects, but I will get this done soon. Thanks of the feedback.

I knew based on my dealer build sheet that our LED lights were the same hardware as the EU lights only it was decoded with the restrictions. I believe I mentioned that but it was discounted as wrong So what is the deal here... are we able to code it with he latest software 55.1 Version or not??

Yes, it is possible as I've mentioned before - not sure what you aren't understanding. VO Coding is the only thing at work here and there were actual hardware differences. However, based on the non-glare high beam pdf I went over and posted, those differences proved to be irrelevant and not needed for the lights to function. The lights are not the same - they have different part numbers. I don't really understand what point you're trying to make. No one knew other ECUs were involved except the main ones that have been discussed for years that related to lighting: BDC_Body, Kafas, now LHM and TMS. Then, we dove deeper into the FDL coding differences. I had an idea of coding them all before last year but never thought what it would do because we didn't know how something that wasn't related to lighting could affect the lighting. However, the PDF explained it, and it makes more sense now. Everyone, not just you, knew that it was decoded on the build sheet. That is old news that other coders before me even knew when they started to mess around and actually make the glare-free coding work on the 5 series. Perhaps, as the updates came, they started throwing things into different ECUs on purpose. America and other countries keep getting screwed out of these features for no reason when Europe has 70% of the cheat sheet and all of these useful/functional features precoded. A lot of hard work went into figuring and testing things out leading up to this not just by me, but also by others.

Well lets see you mentioned in this very thread that I misunderstood about being able to code the anti-dazzle on 55.1 Version cars.... This is why I am confused still.. not to mention that I am not familiar with the coding of our cars and its process.

Additionally, I am not trying to claim that I knew about the lights being decoded first, I just made a comment about it few weeks ago since on my build sheet it had the comments that they were decoded and then someone responded that they were not the same hardware.
