So I've been watching this closely as I just purchased a '17X5m local here in Seattle. I have noticed the ticking noise and have repeatedly noticed that the noise is not present in the mornings after sitting overnight. Once I drive for a bit and either heat the bearings or brakes up the sound returns. Just another data point for what it is worth...cheers.

Dealer just performed the hub repair and the clicking is gone. Also replaced the rotors, and the brake squeal is gone.

so my X5M was fine until approx 15-16K miles
noted clicking sound when turning to the right. Dealer fixed it without issue-no more clicking. They have the service bulletin, it's a known "issue" (likely benign, just annoying and mildly embarrassing) |

I’ve followed this thread for over a year now. Anyone ever have permanent success? I have an 16’ x5 (f15) with the clicking. It doesn’t do it turning the wheel, only straight runs at low rpm’s (2000-4000).
I had my turbos replaced (the service center thought it was the waste gates but it did not solve the problem. I suspect it’s something In the exhaust flow but it sounds external, almost like a baseball card in the spokes. |
