M Sport Aero Kit - From Ebay
Hi there,
I am interested in upgrading my X Line to the M sport exterior aesthetics. There are many posts I have read that confirm that it is a bolt-on swap (with the appropriate ducting/support pieces purchased). I am considering buying this aftermarket kit from Ebay, but I haven't been able to find any real world experiences or reviews on it. Has anyone used it? Any comments on fitment, quality, overall impressions? "Advance Tuning" - 14-17 BMW F15 X5 M-Tech Complete Kits Full Conversion Black PP https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-14-17-...IAAOSwXXVan1hI Also, is it just me or are the side skirts not correct? |

Seems like a good deal. Although I agree, side skirts do not match factory M Sport.

Closing the loop on this - I decided to take the plunge and go for this body kit. I self-installed it. I would say that the fitment and quality is 8 or 9 out of 10. The kit is complete and all of the mounting holes line up as they should. The only reason for the 8 or 9 is that some of the gaps where the bumper meets the fenders etc is not 100%. From a discerning eye, you can see that, but you really need to look at it.
I was worried about the side skirts, but they turned out to be accurate to the M sport style. Overall I am very happy that I was able to get the M sport body look, at a very reasonable price. I can send photos or more details for anyone that is interested. |

That is a lot less than my OEM conversion. Did you have it painted, then install?
Post pics here?

That's awesome. I want to see pics. There was another member like 1.6yrs ago who was doing the f85 conversion. Unfortunately he never updated his thread.

Sorry for the delay - I wrapped the windows myself. I hired someone to wrap the roof rails though - the curves and the contours was too difficult. Windows were easy once removed. If I remember correctly, the roof rails cost $120 to wrap.

I took the dive and went with this kit also. Had it on the car for 2 months and love it. Had it shipped straight to my body shop and they did the work in 3 days. They had to make some slight cuts to the front of the inside fender lining. Seems that the M Sport sits a little closer to the frame of the car. Other than that, everything fit perfect.
I thought that the kit came with exhaust tips but it didnt appear so. Didnt matter to me since I will be doing a custom exhaust but just a heads up for anyone considering this route. Also a good idea to add mud flaps to the front to keep snow, dirt, salt and crap from screwing up the painted side skirts. Best bang for my buck I have ever spent on this car. Very happy! |
