Hi guys. We are new to the forum but are hoping you can help us with some questions.

My husband just replaced the valve cover on my X5 and now that it’s reinstalled, the fuel rail has a cylinder that’s leaking. It doesn’t matter how much it’s tightened or loosened, it still leaks. He even took it back off to make sure it didn’t have any debris in there…still leaking.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Aren't they just flared fittings?

I think there is a seal in the cylinder head, this thing:

I'm pretty sure there's no seals on the line fittings. They are high pressure.
When tightening the lines, I always wiggle the line as I tighten the nut, to make sure the fitting is seated properly. Perhaps the pipe wasn't sitting right when tightening, and the flare got deformed?

Sounds like a damaged fuel line and/or rail.

Probably, nothing much to do about fixing things once damaged.

Go to eBay and buy a good used part. Install more carefully. Move on with life.

Best of Luck!
