Anyone able to get spark plugs replaced under warranty before 60k?

I’m have been getting horrible gas mileage for the past few months around 17mpg for a 35i where before I was getting 21-23. Took it to 2 dealers and they both said no error codes so nothing we can do until the 60k maintenance for new spark plugs. It only has 42k on it now and seems unreasonable to wait 18k if it has carbon build up or bad plugs.
I supposed as a last resort I could just changes the plugs myself but kind of defeats the purpose of the maintenance.

Thanks

Yes, just a few weeks ago the dealership replaced all plugs and coils in attempt to fix the throttle up shudder I was having. That did not fix the issue, turned out to be transfer case issues. I was under CPO warranty.

Given a decrease in mileage, I doubt you will get a dealer to bite. "Prove to me it's not aggressive driving or improper tire pressure causing your drop."

If they've never been changed then I'd for sure change them. Even untuned manufacruers unnecessarily elongate the change intervals on plugs. It's super cheap to do yourself.

Get some NGK 97506 for about $90 and do it yourself. Can be done in less than an hour if you know what you are doing.

Btw I didn't see much improvement from changing the plugs alone.. I would do the coil too because I only saw less than 1 mpg difference.

I wouldn't waste $90 on a non modded engine. Spend $25 and get the OEM M plugs. Just my $.02.

$90 for all 6 of them.. no gapping required. Basically same quality if not better than the original Bosch plugs.

Don't need to gap the OEM ones either. Again, if not tuned. Only reason I gapped them when I put them in was to get them down to what some are recommending for high boost applications such as with tunes etc. and I would say the NGK are better. Plus they're one step colder. But again to each their own. Not my money.

My service guy saw that my maintenance was running out, so he said he would replace as many service items as he could. Air filters, cabin microfilter, spark plugs, fluids, wipers and rear pads. Said front was still good so couldn't get that approved.

Actually I was eyeing that MPBK for a while now... worn out brakes AKA I can talk myself into buying them.

Some service folks try to work to make the client happy. Other just don't give a crap.

Is there a good DIY for the plugs? I went to do them with an oil change at 55k miles but saw there was a ton of crap to remove and i was tired (and out of beer) so decided to save it for the 60k oil change.

I'm getting a cold start shudder if i put it in reverse right away, hoping this fixes that.

50i yes by me actually. But I'm assuming you're 35i by your statement.

There a bunch of 35i done in other forums (3/5 series etc). I would google it. Sure even on YouTube.
