Find an independent service center to do the work, should definitely be some savings going that route.

Rather rare for the ball joint itself to develop play prior to bushing failure.
If that is the thrust arm, the quote is high regardless. Under my service contract (thank god) TAs were like $1.6k.

Are you able to do the work yourself?
Do you want genuine BMW parts? Do you want it done by a BMW dealership? If your answers are no, yes, yes, then… If you ARE able to do it, that’s about $1100 in genuine BMW parts, then add in your labor. Or you can get equivalent parts from other places for much less |

Buy lemforder parts at any independent service center. Will be half the cost and the same thing as OE BMW parts.

Could this also be referred to as the Thrust arm bushing?
I'm at 60k miles and have been told the thrust arm bushings need replacement. Sorry not trying to thread jack. |

So if your bushings need replacement, you can just do those. Though I would think the ball joints can’t be too far behind, so if it were me I’d just replace the arms. |

Just had these done not too long ago. Local to the area as well. I would confirm the part numbers via RealOEM.com, order the parts from FCPEuro, and bring them to a local independent shop if needed.
