Looks like an interesting setup. Of course, no one can truly understand or listen to it better than in person. So def looking forward to your video and review of it.

I just got around to actually watching the rest of that video. I stopped in the beginning because I was replying to PMs and doing other stuff. I'm actually not a fan . It's too raspy for my tastes. The deep tone is muffled with the "rrrrrrrrr" rather than "vvvvvvv" type of sound especially at the end with those snaps of the turbo.

I really hope someone releases a deeper sounding toned exhaust for the 50i. My FX35 has this exhaust without that annoying whine sound you hear (not sure what is wrong with his car), but this is the type of sound I go for. It's clean and deep similar to lamborghini tones:

Amazing system but wow $6K? If you haven't gotten your 50i and want better exhaust/performance, may be wait, save up a bit more for the X5M...

Haha, you don't have to tell someone like me about volume, brother . I'm a huge tech guy and sound quality is one of the biggest things I look for in many things from computers, TVs, soundbars, cars, etc.

I have a high end Logitech Sound System hooked up to my i7 laptop watching it on a 4k 39" wall-mounted screen. I'm very big on sound clarity and quality.

I'm not knocking your opinion at all. To you, this sound could be the best thing you've heard in your life. To me, it's just a bit raspier than I would like because of the kinds of car exhausts I prefer on vehicles. I know exhausts because my cousin always upgraded his fast vehicles with high end exhaust systems. We have a MagnaFlow system on our QX56 as well - it was way too loud so I bought a Vibrant Performance Resonator to reduce the drone between 1.5-1.8 RPM.

Again, not knocking your choice, and I'm sure it will sound much nicer in person. Just my humble opinion .

i know this exhaust is super expensive, but high end exhaust on high end cars are expensive. the ability to control the valves only adds to the reasoning behind getting this one.

go look at pricing for quality exhaust on some high end cars. and its not pretty. it may not be an akropovic, but no one else has the valves that i know of. and the sound cant be beat(TBD)

the real reason is because i plan to keep this vehicle for at least 3 or 4 years, and mod the hell out of it after year 1 of ownership, when more and more is introduced. i have never kept a ca more then 2 years, and this one will probably stay in the loop for a long time....i want to be happy for that time, and i need this sound...

I just hope for your head/ears' sake, there's no drone of any kind considering how loud it is. Strong drone is what causes people to get headaches within the cabin due to the constant vibration at those lower RPMs in case anyone is curious.

Also, regarding mods...I'll be keeping my car for a long time too, which is why I'm doing what I'm doing as well. It's your car, so as long as you're happy at the end of the day without second guessing your decisions, then that's all that matters, buddy.

spoke with gthaus with this originally regarding drone. on this one, they stated they made sure of no drone at any cruising speeds 35-50-60-80 in whatever gear the x5 would stick with by computer. im hoping this is true...as i do not want any drone. ill be ok with drone in open position but in closed, ill just hope there is none

have not and im getting very impatient....i ordered october 29.......................... i hate to be a whistleblower, but im at like what 12 or 13 weeks so far...im waiting to hear back, and if i dont get an answer that its shipping by Friday. im canceling.......
