Rear hatch doesn’t stay fully open

Was doing my spring changing winter to summer wheels today and ran my head into the corner of the rear hatch when I went to put my wheel change tools back in the car, lesson learned DON’T LEAVE REAR HATCH OPEN FOR AN HOUR!!!
It seems to come down 6 inches or so by then…..

Is this normal or is this a wear thingy?…..it’s a low mileage car so am surprised/disappointed.

OUCH! Sorry that happened, but I think you may need to replace the shocks. That would be my first guess, as I leave mine opened all night without it lowering.

Ok, thanks for that confirmation as I was thinking that maybe the culprit, just that I googled my issue and got nothing relevant must have gotten a bad batch of shocks on my 2018…

Does it lower every time? Unfortunately since they're electric struts, they're relatively expensive, your best bet is probably rockauto
