X5 rear sagging again
Hi we have a BMW x5 30d M 2014 (F15) and recently we have faced with the rear suspension sagging, we had this issue last year and we had the rear air suspension bags replaced by BMW (air was leaking which we could hear from the back wheels). We had that fixed almost a year and now the suspension is sagging again and this time it is showing a "Chassis function restricted" message on the dashboard (which was not there last time the rear suspension sagged) also we can hear the compressor kick in when we unlock and open the driver side door but the car does not raise the rear end at all. We took it to a local garage and they said the cars were not showing any fault codes on their system so they tested the compressor (we were able to hear it turn on and off) and the technician said the compressor does not sound healthy and apparently it should be louder and run faster. We thought it could be the leveling sensor and thats probably why it was showing the error on the dashboard but at this point we don't know, the technician checked for any air leaks in the lines but was not able to find any (they tried to listen for leaking air noise). Keeping in mind that this is a local garage, the technician concluded that the compressor has probably burnt itself out and is not pushing enough air into the suspension bags for it to inflate. BMW dealer quoted £1500 for the part and installation. So this is the situation and any advice or help will be very appreciated. We have been browsing some of your compressors on ebay and have found a couple that matched the OEM part. Here is a link to a compressor we found also this is the same brand BMW uses for there vehicles.
