xDrive50i or X5M?

Happy new year everyone!

I need to make a decision re: 2018 X5 xDrive50i or X5M? Any of you ever been in the same boat? What did you choose? Why? Any regrets?

Priority for me is quiet ride, comfortable, fun to drive - is the additional 20k for the X5M worth it - or is a loaded xDrive50i the better option!

Coming from a '14 v6 Range Rover Sport, will be daily driver.

I know this is subjective, but any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated!

I was just in that same boat last month and decided on the 50i as it is quick enough and handles great. The X5M is great and I drove both and do not regret my decision. Both are great vehicles. I took the left over money and added it to my son's college fund.

$20k is worth if you really REALLY want the best. Otherwise 50i will do just fine and be even more comfortable and more economical option

P.S. 50i can be made to be as fast as a stock x5m with couple mods, so there's that too (but of course x5m can be made to be even faster)

Save your money. 50i DHP and chip and you'll be happy. Don't get ventilated seats pointless and uncomfortable.

If all you want is a quiet comfortable fun ride then save the money. Don't get me wrong I'd take a X5M if I could afford it but I'm wreckless with my money. Haha

I've heard a reviewer say the m is a bit harsh as a daily driver. If test drive both.

I have 50i with DHP and it's a solid car. It's super fun if you push it, quiet and civilized if you're gentle with it.

Some have said the X5M in Comfort mode is still more fun that the 50i (with DHP) in Sport+ mode. But many agree that the ride can be a bit harsher in the X5M.

But because I see F15s everywhere now, I'm liking the exclusivity and rarity of the X5M. I won't test drive the M because I know I'll be tempted

Well optioned 50i > stripper M

Unless you are considering a well optioned M.

Going from a RRS w/ the supercharged V6 w/ 340hp, I'd say either the 50 or the M are fine. If you were coming from a full size RR w/ the 510hp V8, I'd still say either X5 would suit you but the M would be closer in my opinion.

You're bumping up to 445hp stock with the 50i. 567hp with the M. So you're going to like it for sure.

It's really going to come down to what interior and exterior options are important to you, what your financial goals are, and whether you want the extra 122 stock ponies at your disposal!

If you haven't already done so, you may want to research the 4th generation X5 (2019) prior to pulling the trigger on the last year of gen 3...just in case you find you'd prefer to wait.
