Does ordering an individual trip option really delay the delivery time?

I want to specify piano black trim (the only individual option in my order) but my dealer in Germany is insisting that it will delay the delivery time by 3-4 weeks. It seems strange that this would be so. Can anyone confirm whether this is likely true?

Same thing recently happened to me in the states. I too ordered piano black trim and it was the only Individual option in my order. When I placed the order my Sales Advisor said "Oh, that's an Individual option so it will take a little longer." I think it added about 2-3 weeks to my delivery date.

Yep, will add a few weeks.
Only you can figure out if it’s worth it.

I have that option - piano black. It did add 2-3 weeks to my order and I am in the US.

You do know that there is a facelift coming? I´m always wondering who the people are that buys a brand new car just before it gets outdated.. Obviously some people don't care.

AFAIK production only starts in about 8 months. I don't currently have a car and need one. Definitely not worth not having a car for a minor facelift.

My neighbor buys the last generation models every time. Some people just are like that.

And some people wonder who the people are that buy the first year of a new generation. To each their own, someone has to buy them!

And they may be getting a much better deal on an outgoing version. For the financially savvy it is usually about the deal, especially on a fast-depreciating object like a new vehicle.

"Individual Trim, Interior, Paint" are always produced the first two weeks in the month. That being his vehicle if ordered and in queue at 150 it will be built. If not then the vehicle would be build in the beginning of February first or second week.
