Sunglasses Holder (Compartment) from BMW UK (Why not BMW NA?!)

I have this in my 2015 F15 M Sport (USA).

I store my non-polarized sunglasses in here

I have this compartment, when i press the button it don't even open. Have to pry it open with my finger. For an $80,000+ car this is unacceptable. Will be bringing it to my dealers attention at my encore delivery.

Well, I bought an $80,000 + tax vehicle and got nothing not even a cargo net. You figure they could pay more attention to the smaller details with that kind of money.

I think all USA models have the sunglass holder. But I agree with you on the opening.. It was difficult to open in the beginning but after using it on a daily basis, it appears to have gotten slightly easier to open.

The salesman noticed it while he was presenting it to me at the dealer.
His words "Oh cool. That's new!"

I have a 2014 X5 50i and I do have this compartment. I keep a spare pair of sunglass in there. I will work for standard sunglasses not the exotic Oakley's or anything with a larger frame.

Right.. sunglasses that don't fold flat won't fit like the Oakley, but sunglasses like ray ban wayfarer will fit fine.

Its a bit of a long story but I made an error when I ordered the car (I blame the salesperson) and when I realized they said it couldn't be changed. I only have the M Sport with the Premium Package "Essentials", I needed to order the Premium Package "Enhanced". I'm just so mad but not much I can do. I bought the car for my Wife as a birthday present. I get it on Tuesday. Lets hope she doesn't notice these things.

I trust you order the "Enhanced"?

Yes we did... There is an accessory on the BMW US site that appears to be a pouch that can be added to a visor... It actually looks like it is more adequate than the 'afterthought' holder. I have a Ford truck that I use for work at times and it has a much more substantial holder. The difference is that Ford designs a sunglass holder than build a vehicle around it, where BMW builds an excellent vehicle and worries about these details later... The cupholder in my 1-series is hilarious!

I found a cargo net on the hidden compartment on the left side corner of the trunk.
Pull that out and you will see a grey foam storage area and there it was.

In some countries, the cargo net is not available for free.

I looked into retro fitting the sunglasses holder, it's not cost effective and looks to be too much PIA. I went with the $2.99 walmart solution. Still pissed a 100K vehicle doesn't come with a sunglass holder, flipping ridiculous!

I rather have something else than a sunglass holder that only fit a minimal amount of sunglass styles in my 100k car.
What about a back door that does not creak and pop when driving in uneven roads.

You are suggesting X54TH to pull out the secret compartment to check to see if he has the cargo net.. and I am just letting you know that in some countries ( Like Canada where X54TH is from ) does not get the cargo net for free.
