Ouch!

On the positive note - maybe now you can go for M Sport bumper?

Sorry buddy.

Might be best to get a dedicated winter beater to drive on icy bumper car days.

Man, sorry to see that. I bet the dirt makes it look worse than it really is. Hopefully it's a minor repair.

That sucks. I feel your pain. Happened to my son last year. We used a BMW shop and I can't tell. We got a life time warranty on the work.

Either company life time or owner life time or car life time, whichever is the shortest.

Usually ownership lifetime is the shortest. People do change car quite often. Most forum members change car between 3-5 years.

Sorry, it's based on our ownership of the vehicle. Anyway, it's really good...I can't tell and I'm pretty picky. Don't worry they'll have that fixed up to perfection.

I know the dealerships do a lot of outsourcing. I've been really impressed with the body shop, wheel rim repair and dent removal.

Sorry buddy. Hopefully the other party have a good insurance carrier. Your car will be as good as new. Just make sure to go through everything and insist they use OEM parts. Glad that no one was seriously hurt.

And I thought the windshield replacement quote of $3000+ I got today was expensive. That's the 2nd most expensive rock that I have to pay for ..... first being the mrs engagement ring. Lol

Good luck. Hopefully you find a good shop and do not spend a few weeks trying to repair and get a quality paint finish.

Sorry to see that.

These days I'm coming back to my car I've got a new dent on the door or a swipe on the fender. Breaks my heart every time.

After a dozen of these, I took my car to a local shop pulled out all the dents, fixed several scratches. As I pull it to the local CVS a few minutes later, boink new dent on the door from lady next to me who wanted to swing her door all the way open. Of course she sped off before I could even get out.

I hope I never have to use it, but glad I have multi-camera dashcam for cases like this when faced with dishonest scum.

The best was when I was parked waiting for my wife to come out the store. This guy parked right beside me opens his door against mine, looks at me, the door and shrugs his shoulders like oh well and drives away with a smile. The bloody nerve of people. If it were me I'd be out of my car apologizing and giving him my number if there were any concerns. Luckily it was the handle of the X5 and no chips or dents.

Wow, thank everyone for a feedback. I feel a bit better. I already made up my mind where it is going to be fixed and talked to a shop owner. His shop gets jobs from local BMW dealer. I saw 2 X5s delivered to customers while i was waiting. Hopefully, by the end of next week, it will all be history.

I have a multi-cam setup also, but every time you need to weigh calling the police to take an hour to arrive and having a record on the Carfax vs $50 dent repair...

Does your windshield have anything else besides HUD? That seems absurdly high.

My non-HUD windshield costs around $750.
HUD windshield costs around $1200 from Safelite

HUD only. plus DA+. The dealer quote was for parts and labor (5 hours @$210 per hour). I read most of the folks here paid roughly $1500 for the glass. I am taking my vehicle to Safelite to see if they can repair (Geico repair network).
