You need to leave a gap between the X6 and the "M" to avoid having people think you're mistaking it for the actual X6M.
Also, I have no problem with the M badges that BMW stick on their cars themselves, if it's from BMW then fair enough, and whether you choose to keep or remove them is up to you, but...and a matter of personal preference.... I wouldn't go sticking extra M badges on either, like the one next to the X6 emblem on the tailgate. Cheapens the whole look of an otherwise great looking (and premium) car.

Just back from the Swiss slopes and our drive through the French motorways saw plenty of X5 configurations, specs, and colour.
Counting down the days for my new arrival

Does the Dinan filters actually do anything?

I believe you're buying a carbon fiber air box cover for aesthetics. DINAN does not have any stand-alone dyno plots showing before and after and typically when that's the case it's because there is no substantial difference between before/after. (They claim 23hp gain with tune and exhaust which I believe are the main factors in the 23hp.) The odd thing is that DINAN designed the filters to tilt upward so the airbox cover from them is needed. Otherwise you could achieve the same thing with the BMC drop-in filters at a third of the price.

I was not expecting much gains with the intake and purchased it mainly for some additional sound and engine aesthetics. I didn't go with the BMC drop ins simply because the filter area increase is marginal over stock filters and I didn't like how they used oiled on the filters that could possibly faul the MAF sensors which has happened with then M5 guys using bmc.
Dinans design uses dry filters with an increase surface area of nearly 230% and increases the intake box area by 15%. None of this might matter on a stock car running stock boost but it might for a tuned car running higher boost. According to the Dinan rep stage 2 upgrade is worth 23hp combined with the intake/exhaust/map change. After people asked the question he went deeper into saying that the exhaust nothing more than a sound upgrade and doesn't produce any hp worth noting by itself and if you get just the stage 2 mapping alone you should only expect 5-7hp gain. That to me is enough to conclude that when running higher boosts there are gains with this intake. Either way I'm happy with my purchase and noticed a slight increase in sound and throttle response. As for power it's hard to notice 15-20hp when you have over 600 but my butt dyno seems to feel something (maybe just my wallet being lighter) Here's a quote from Dinan. Quote:
