Active Driving Assistant
Can anyone confirm whether or not there is a way to get the active driving assistant on its own, or at least without the full driver assist and driver assist plus packages?
Per bmwusa.com looks like you could get this with "ACC Stop & Go + active driving assistant," but it seems to actually let you select driver assistant without even picking ACC stop and go, with $0 added to the MSRP (assuming that's a glitch?). Can anyone confirm? My CA seemed to think it was only available with driver assistant plus, despite the way it's labeled on the website. Anyone order it on its own or only ACC stop and go + active driving assistant (no driver assist packages)? |

Actually, if I'm reading the order guide correctly, the only way to get the blind spot detection is with driving assistant plus. That's what I was really interested in, more than the rest. I thought I read somewhere that was part of the active driving assistant piece. Can anyone confirm? The description for Active Driving Assistant mentions the blind spot detection, but it's listed as a separate option in the order guide posted on here within the driving assistant plus package

Thanks. I think I figured it out.. was originally trying to see if there was a way to get the blind spot detection without the full drivers assistance & plus packages, as the documentation seems to indicate (at least in one place) that blind spot is in the Active Driving Assistant (which can also be had by getting the ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant as stand alone option). But since the order guide shows the blind spot detection as a separate option within the driving assistant plus package (separate from Active Driving Assistant), I'm assuming that is the more accurate source.

ACC Stop and Go is an active cruise control system. I think what you guys are referring to is the Forward Collision Warning System that is included with the Active Driving Assistant. You can get this without ACC Stop and Go. I have it on my X5. It comes with the Driver Assistance Plus package.
BTW, I don't think you can order ACC Stop and Go without the Driver Assistance Plus package. It looks like it is an upgrade to the package. Last edited by AEC; 11-19-2013 at 12:54 PM.. |
